As the Ukraine corruption story heats up in the United States with the right accusing Joe Biden and his son of wrongdoing and the left engaged in an impeachment inquiry into President Trump’s “favor,” the new top prosecutor in Ukraine is taking a look at old cases. One of those cases involves Burisma, the energy company that had Hunter Biden on its board, putting it in the center of both political sides of the various investigations.

Ukraine new Chief Prosector to "audit" Biden case
Is this why Biden wants Rudy Giuliani off of TV?

“We are now reviewing all the cases which were closed, fragmented or investigated earlier in order to make a decision on cases where illegal procedural decisions were taken,” lead prosecutor Ruslan Ryaboshapka said in a Friday press conference.
Burisma is one of 15 cases the prosecutor’s office will audit. They are looking for corruption from previous officials both in his office and in the government, corruption that could have forced cases to be closed prematurely. This has been the contention of the right regarding the Burisma case after then-Vice President Biden threatened to withhold a billion-dollar loan guarantee if the previous prosecutor was not fired. Less than six hours after the demand, he was.
Ukraine top prosecutor says Biden-linked Burisma case will be reviewed
His comment came as the Trump White House fights an impeachment inquiry that involves allegations that President Trump used military funding as part of a “quid pro quo” with Kiev to investigate Biden and his father, former Vice President Joe Biden.
Trump has denied wrongdoing. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, who participated in a scrutinized phone call with Trump in July, said he never felt pressure from Trump.
Trump’s key focus has been how Hunter Biden, who reportedly knew little about the energy business and the country, ended up on Burisma’s board while his father was vice president under Barack Obama. The elder Biden later pressured Ukraine to oust a prosecutor who had been looking into the company’s founder, though Biden allies say this intervention was driven by corruption concerns.
This move does not mean the case will necessarily be reopened. The audit is designed to find cases to reopen because they were improperly closed. However, it seems to fit the narrative that Biden stepped in on behalf of the company that had his son on the board. Simply reopening the case after the audit will draw questions from American press about what the prosecutor found.
While Democrats and mainstream media continue to paint this as an issue about President Trump, the circumstantial evidence and common sense seems to point more squarely at both Bidens. As our EIC noted, the question everyone should be asking is whether or not impeachment would be moving forward if Biden was not running for president. Political status should not predicate an impeachable offense regardless of the administration’s reasoning for prompting the investigation.’
If the case is reopened, it should vindicate the President for asking. But in the eyes of Democrats and their propagandists in mainstream media, it will be spun as the President’s pressure working on a foreign government. No fault will be assigned to the Bidens.
Both the media and the Democrats want to focus taken off of Biden and planted squarely on the whistleblower and the President. But if any crimes were committed, it’s much more likely Biden & Son are at the center of this whole mess.
