It took Senator Elizabeth Warren 14-pages to detail how she intends to transform labor in America. That in itself is a possible reason why it’s not getting the negative press coverage on conservative media that it deserves. After reading it, I can tell you this with absolute certainty: It is just as crushing to the economy as any of the other radical progressive proposals spewing from the mouths of candidates today. Yes, that includes Medicare-for-All and the Green New Deal.
Her proposal is loaded with the obvious flaws such as $15-and-rising minimum wage, “protections” for workers that make California’s obtuse labor laws seem moderate, and a general victim mentality that portrays employees as slaves who should get much more for doing much less. But the real kick to capitalism’s groin is the fact that it was written to grant fiscal supremacy to labor unions. She went so far as to promise to stack the courts, including the Supreme Court, with judges who are willing to force non-union employees to pay union dues.
Organized labor in America, better known as the grassroots campaign enforcers of the Democratic Party, will essentially determine the direction of every company, large and small, in America. No decisions will be made without approval from the union bosses. No employee can be fired without consent. And everyone gets paid whether they’re doing their job or not.
We often discuss socialism on this site, noting how gun control, open borders, single-payer healthcare, and climate change hysteria are all catalysts for a larger shift in the American political and economic systems, a shift that takes us into full-blown Marxism. But these changes are incremental. They’re the beginning of the socialism conversation. By shifting the power, ALL of the power, into the hands of union mob bosses, we will no longer be seeing the early stages of socialism. We will have pockets of socialism popping up across the country, overruling local, county, and state governments with Washington DC’s implicit backing.
Conservatives fear an authoritarian future, and rightfully so. Warren’s plan establishes authoritarian rule by empowering the people to be their own economic executioners. When unions rule, companies fail. Just as Think Progress succumbed to its own union wokeness, so too will many American businesses collapse, starting a cascading effect on the economy that will be irreversible. The moment a plan like Warren’s becomes law, I’d estimate the United States of America will experience full economic implosion within 12-18 months.
When NeverTrump “conservatives” give de facto support to abominations like Elizabeth Warren’s Union Empowerment Plan, I question their patriotism. How can any thinking patriot wish this upon the American people?
