The quest to protect the rights of criminal illegal immigrants as superior to their responsibility to protect the people reared its ugly head again this week as sanctuary jurisdictions in New York and New Jersey released a pair of alleged child rapists before ICE could take them into custody. Now, the suspects are on the run while families of their alleged victims wonder how these progressive policies are even allowed to exist.
New Jersey police arrested Luciano Trejo-Dominguez on suspicion of restraining and sexually assaulting a child younger than 16 on Aug. 12. Meanwhile, Joaquin Rodriguez Quiroz was arrested by police in New York’s Westchester County on 3rd-degree rape charges on Sept. 6. Both men were released by their respective jailers to protect them from ICE, which placed detainers on both illegal aliens.
This is what Democratic voters in these states wanted. This is what they get.
Federal immigration officials say two alleged child rapists are on the run after authorities in New York and New Jersey refused to hold the suspects in jail for ICE.
According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Mexican nationals were each taken into custody for separate incidents in the Tri-State Area on charges they sexually assaulted a minor.
Despite requests that the men be held in jail until officers from ICE could pick them up, local law enforcement in both states released the suspects back into the public.
The experiment of sanctuary jurisdictions bringing order and cooperation between Hispanic communities and law enforcement has been a miserable failure. Illegal immigrant crime has risen in sanctuary jurisdictions with legal immigrants being the primary victims.
Opposition to ICE is a smokescreen to keep the truth of the dangers of sanctuary cities from reaching mainstream America’s consciousness. These are extremely dangerous people who do not believe in the rule of law and who put American citizens at great risk, yet they are treated better by the justice system in sanctuary jurisdictions than the citizens who are supposed to be protected. It’s a sham, and the left knows it. But virtue signaling supersedes common sense or the safety of the people in the minds of progressive politicians.
There needs to be a loud wake up call resonating among voters who stand by these crime-enabling politicians. They must get over their egos and acknowledge that sanctuary jurisdictions have been tried, failed, and have been demonstrated as a perversion of justice for the sake of feelings.

Only a post-truth society can stand by and watch suspected child rapists protected by law enforcement because they entered the country illegally. Sanctuary jurisdictions are the epitome of backwards progressive thinking on immigration.
