Former Vice President Joe Biden is in a lot of trouble. He won’t be charged with a crime. He probably won’t face any repercussions in his private life and will go down as the guy who stood beside the guy who Democrats love (though that history is being rewritten by radical progressives in the party as we speak). But what won’t happen is being nominated for president. The Ukrainian scandal will make sure of that.
Even as Democrats and mainstream media try to point to a call to have Ukraine look into Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, average Americans aware of the situation will wonder what President Trump wanted investigated in the first place. The answer will annoy them. It’s not that the news is new. Mainstream media ignored it and conservative media failed to make it a thing. Now that President Trump’s name can be dragged through the mud because of it, the Biden scenario is fair game for mainstream media. The way they see it, they have a dozen other candidates for the nomination, but only one chance at impeachment.
While many will debate whether or not Biden bragging to the Council on Foreign Relations was an indication that he knowingly abused power to protect his son who was being investigated by the prosecutor Biden had fired, what cannot be argued is this (in bold print for effect):
Knowing his son’s involvement with Ukraine and their investigation into him, Biden should have recused himself from all dealings with the nation. Period.
The fact that he didn’t is disqualifying. It demonstrates at best a lack of understanding of how executive branch politics should work in regards to foreign relations, and at worst it’s a blatant abuse of power.
If the media is looking for a U.S. leader who pressured Ukraine for personal gain, the evidence unambiguously points at Joe Biden. But that’s not what the media seeks. They’re helping push the impeachment narrative, plain and simple.
