Representative Ilhan Omar is a controversial member of “The Squad.” She’s an anti-Semite, having expressed her hatred for Jews and the state of Israel on multiple occasions both privately and publicly. She’s an ineffective lawmaker, having made no progress in anything outside of Twitter after essentially abandoning the people in her Congressional district. She may have even married her brother to commit immigration fraud. Now, she can add two more “accomplishments” to her resume: Homewrecker and campaign finance fraud.
The wife of the man she’s allegedly having an affair with has blamed Omar in her divorce filing. Meanwhile, she’s been accused by a watchdog group of using campaign funds for personal use in the form of travel for her alleged lover.
“We believe Representative Ilhan Omar may have touched the third rail of campaign finance law: disbursing campaign funds for personal use,” said Tom Anderson with the National Legal and Policy Center. “It’s a brazen act Representative Omar was caught doing before in Minnesota and all of the evidence we’ve seen tells us she’s probably doing it again.”
National Legal and Policy Center claims Tim Mynett’s travels with and for Omar as the owner of the E Street Group perpetuated their extra-marital relationship. This is a big no-no in campaign finance rules, one that could bring repercussions against the freshman Congresswoman.
The details surrounding the affair are sordid:
Ilhan Omar stole my husband, DC mom claims in divorce papers
Dr. Beth Mynett says her cheating spouse, Tim Mynett, told her in April that he was having an affair with the Somali-born US representative — and that he even made a “shocking declaration of love” for the Minnesota congresswoman before he ditched his wife, alleges the filing, submitted in DC Superior Court on Tuesday.
The physician, 55, and her 38-year-old husband — who has worked for left-wing Democrats such as Omar and her Minnesota predecessor, Keith Ellison — have a 13-year-old son together.
“The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar,” the court papers say.
According to The Post, Omar’s campaign has paid E Street Group $230,000 since her 2018 campaign.
Nothing says progressive values better than cratering two families with children, all for the sake of love. But breaking the law in the process is ill-advised, as Ilhan Omar will hopefully learn for herself soon enough.
