There’s a sickness spreading across America. No, that sickness isn’t racism even though there are strange racial tensions fermenting all around us. It’s a racism that goes in both directions unlike the hideous anti-minority racism of the past. Today, racism is happening across the board.
But the sickness that’s spreading is one uniquely associated with progressives. It’s an instant and abundant use of the race card that seems to have become the go-to tactic used by so many on the left even when it isn’t present… perhaps especially when it isn’t present.
Real racism exists, but whenever progressive personalities like CNN’s Chris Cuomo invoke the race card, it’s ugly. Today, he went so far as to establish the false equivalence of Italian-Americans being called “Fredo” and African-Americans being called “the n-word.” As my colleague noted earlier, calling someone “Fredo” is a pejorative, not a racial slur.
Katrina Pierson called out Cuomo and wondered what the NAACP thought about his equating of the terms in question.

This has become standard operating procedure for the left. If a conservative does something, use the race card. If a conservative says something, use the race card. If a conservative calls you a name, use the race card. This is a systematic form of media jamming intent on making Republicans in general and Trump-supporters in particular feel they support racists. It’s especially pointed towards Independents, though, as the narrative the left is pushing is that if you support the GOP or President Trump, you must be a racist.
This incident will die down. CNN will be proud their boy flexed his social justice warrior muscles by condemning the racist Fredo-insult-hurler. Conservatives will chuckle. But the race card will continue to be used constantly.
