San Diego city council just passed a “gun storage” law that makes it a crime to keep guns in the home unless they’re in a safe or locked safe or disabled. The intention, as is often the case with gun laws, is to prevent mass shootings, teen suicides, and accidental domestic violence. But the reality is this: Making guns more difficult to engage make people less safe.
As Colion Noir points out in this video, there are six times more accidental deaths of children drowning in pools than gun accidents, and that includes gun accidents that would have happened with or without gun storage laws in place. Do you see people jailed because they didn’t secure their pools properly?
The notion that Democrats are coming after our guns is demonstrable. Each little step that infringes on our 2nd Amendment rights is a step towards gun confiscations, which is the ultimate firearm goal of the radical progressives whose ranks are growing across America. But their virtue-signaling laws do not protect lives. They put more lives in danger.
Just as they would rather hamper 130 million law-abiding gun owners to allegedly punish the few gun criminals, so too are laws like these invariably more damaging to our safety than we should otherwise have to experience. Gun laws that are already on the books have gone too far. The incessant push to add more gun laws is indicative of a mentality that views guns as the problem when in so many cases guns would have been the appropriate solution.
We have to fight back against these obtuse abuses of power by gun-hating politicians. Little by little, they are tearing down the 2nd Amendment. This video by Colion Noir is just the latest example of a dangerous trend.
