ICE raids are the last, best hope to slow the migrant surge until the election

ICE raids are the last best hope to slow the migrant surge until the election

Nobody can say the President isn’t trying. He’s signing executive orders. He’s making new rules. He shut down the government for the longest period in American history. Yet the legislative and judicial branches continue to take turns thwarting his efforts and encouraging migrants to cross the border illegally. At this point, he has only the executive branch to trust with trying to slow the surge until voters can give the GOP control of the House of Representatives again. This means his best tool is ICE.

Border patrol can only do so much. Even when they’re able to capture illegal immigrants with the limited resources they have, they’re only making it harder for themselves to patrol the border and catch the people who aren’t turning themselves in. To get them back on patrol and away from detention centers processing paperwork and handing out diapers, the surge must slow. The only way for that to happen is fear. Considering the Democrats are rolling out the red carpet for them and activist judges are telling the President (and the world) that all of his efforts are somehow unconstitutional, he must rely on the one law enforcement agency that can strike fear in the hearts of those considering coming.

ICE raids can do the trick. But here’s the thing. They must be unannounced, widespread, and ongoing. It’s time to send a message that ICE is going to be raiding constantly. They’ll be raiding everywhere. Anyone who claims asylum and misses their hearing will be located and removed from the country, properly adjudicated in absentia. Once word spreads that this is happening, the surge will slow dramatically.

Right now, Central American families are willing to have their women and children raped by cartels on a 3000 mile journey after giving away their life savings in hopes of finding good jobs in America. But that willingness is only predicated on the belief they’ll be allowed to stay here indefinitely. What family would be willing to make the journey and sacrifice their bodies if they’re only going to be sent back home a few weeks after arrival?

This is a harsh reply to a harsh situation. I’m not a migrant, though I am a legal immigrant. But I have no idea whether these people are aware of what’s going to happen to them after they pay the cartels to “escort” them to the border. Perhaps the lies being told by the open borders agents of globalist progressives include telling them they won’t have to go through constant sexual assaults. Maybe they’re led to believe the journey isn’t that bad. Or maybe they’re told they’re going to get everything for free once they get here and they’ll be able to live the good life, free of all crime and not a care in the world. I don’t know what motivates them to seek economic prosperity elsewhere, but I do know this: the situations in Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala are better today than they were in the past when migrant caravans were a dozen desperate people, not hundreds or thousands at a time.

The left likes to paint it as inhumane to detain children or separate families. But they have nothing to say about the unspeakably inhumane situation many of these people go through to get here based on the encouragement of the globalists and America’s progressives. If they truly cared for these people, they’d work with charitable organizations or even the United Nations to improve their lives instead of encouraging them to make the dangerous journey here.

When the 2020 election rolls around, it’s time to remove Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi from the chair. The GOP needs a strong majority to go along with greater control over the Senate and a 2nd term for President Trump. But we can’t wait until 2021 to start fixing the border crisis. ICE is the best deterrent available until then.

Since the left doesn’t really care about these people, it’s up to the President to care on behalf of all of us. The most caring thing he can do is deport those who come here illegally, thereby sending the message that the journey isn’t worth the risk.

‘Sanctuary Sheriff’ Garry McFadden released convicted child molester Oscar Leonardo to protect him from ICE

Sanctuary Sheriff Garry McFadden released convicted child molester Oscar Leonardo to protect him fro

At some point, Democrats have to come to the conclusion that their little experiment with sanctuary cities has failed. It was supposed to encourage cooperation with the Hispanic community so they’d be more willing to report crimes knowing the people they were reporting won’t be deported. But instead, crime has risen in nearly every sanctuary jurisdiction while cooperation between the communities and law enforcement haven’t gotten any better.

But instead of learning lessons, Democrats are doubling down. One such Democrat is Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden. Known as the “Sanctuary Sheriff” for lording over his county with anti-ICE policies that went against the will of the people, the buddy of Barack Obama has been at the center of controversy for over a year. Now, he’s being questioned about one illegal alien his policy had released, a previously deported convicted child molester who took two additional months for ICE to capture.

“They know if they’re arrested, they’re not gonna be handed over to ICE,” ICE spokesman Bryan Cox said.

Oscar Leonardo sexually assaulted at least one child in McFadden’s district before being granted release. An ICE detainer was in place, which the sheriff’s office ignored. But McFadden doubled down on his policy by saying ICE should have sent an arrest warrant instead of a detainer. Either McFadden is ignorant of the law he’s supposed to uphold or he’s lying for the sake of misdirection as ICE is incapable of issuing warrants. That’s solely done by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Sanctuary jurisdictions choose to ignore detainers, and despite their claims that this makes the community safer, there are numerous instances where they clearly made the community less safe. This instance is one of them, but ICE was able to recapture him after wasting two months and countless man-ours. They could have simply picked him up and deported him had McFadden cooperated with ICE. Instead, he chose to put more children at risk by protecting a child molester.

As long as Democrats like Garry McFadden continue to protect child molesters like Oscar Leonardo instead of the American citizens they’re charged to protect, they should not be given a single vote. If they won’t do their jobs, replace them.

Why E-Verify didn’t work at poultry plants in Mississippi and how to fix it

Why E-Verify didnt work at poultry plants in Mississippi and how to fix it

Many conservatives (myself included at one point) believe E-Verify is the silver bullet in protecting jobs from being taken by illegal immigrants. Some states, including Mississippi, mandate its use for new hires. But as the ICE raids on poultry plants in Mississippi demonstrated, the system isn’t being used 100% of the time as mandated and when it’s used, it doesn’t always work.

There are loopholes illegal immigrants can use to circumvent the system. It doesn’t check on the legality of an individual, only whether or not their paperwork is acceptable. But if that paperwork is being shared or was taken from someone else, including the deceased, then the system won’t flag them. It should.

The reason 680 people were apprehended in a single day last week is because the E-Verify system isn’t foolproof and isn’t being used 100% of the time. This needs to be fixed immediately.

According to the Washington Post:

In Mississippi, the companies — Koch Foods, Peco Foods, PH Food, A&B and Pearl River Foods — intentionally hired Guatemalan and Mexican immigrants who are not authorized to work in the United States “for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain,” according to search-warrant affidavits unsealed in federal court after the Aug. 7 raids.

Investigators allege that numerous employees at Pearl River Foods had submitted stolen names and Social Security numbers, including those belonging to the deceased.

At times, companies did not appear to have made an effort to check certain workers’ information in the online E-Verify system, according to the affidavits.

How to fix it

There are many things that need to be revamped in order for E-Verify to work properly. First and foremost, it needs to be updated through cross-referencing other databases, most notably whatever database the IRS uses to determine that someone is deceased. If the data is inaccurate or dated, it presents an opening for illegal immigrants to exploit.

Second, the laws need to be enforced. If a state mandates the use of E-Verify, then businesses caught not using it should be punished. Right now, that’s just not happening. They’re not even getting a slap on the wrist in most cases. If they’re caught like the poultry plants in Mississippi, then they should be placed on a watch list and progressively punished for their lack of compliance through increasing fines and risk of losing state business licenses.

But the most important change must be in the way the system is used. We have technology available to flag irregularities. If a person’s documents are being used repeatedly at multiple locations in a short time, that should prompt law enforcement to investigate. Chances are good they’ll be able to identify and apprehend illegal immigrants up until the point word gets out their scam is no longer working.

The promise of employment is the key driving force behind the massive migrant problem that’s causing our border crisis. Take away the jobs and many migrants will stop coming. We have the tools. Let’s use them.

Google’s social justice warrior workforce is making demands about ICE, CBP

Googles social justice warrior workforce is making demands about ICE CBP

A petition created by Google employees is circulating through the big tech hallowed halls calling for the company to cease any engagements with ICE, CBP, or any government agencies that “engaged in caging and torturing vulnerable people.”

It’s just the latest group of progressive employees at a tech giant making demands of their employers regarding the government clientele they service. Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook have had similar situations regarding government contracts, particularly with the military. This is the first one to be hit with demands regarding border patrol and ICE law enforcement agencies.

“Google has repeatedly advertised its commitments to implementing ethical guardrails on its tech. Google’s AI Principles state that Google will not build technologies ‘whose purpose contravenes widely accepted principles of international law and human rights,'” the Googlers posted in a statement. “By any interpretation, CBP and ICE are in grave violation of international human rights law. The company has also pledged to create a diverse, inclusive, and psychologically safe workplace for all its workers, including immigrants and Latinx people — the very populations whose communities, families, and friends are being terrorized by CBP and ICE.”

In that single paragraph, one can easily discern the misplace passions these leftists are experiencing. The whole document is laden with logical fallacies. In this paragraph, they’re “begging the question” by saying “by any interpretation” ICE and CBP are committed human rights violations. This is, of course, not even close to the truth. It’s not by “any” interpretation. It’s only by a very narrow interpretation of the necessary actions ICE and CBP undertake in order to keep us safe that anyone can consider these human rights violations.

Google employees accuse Border Patrol of ‘torturing’ immigrants, refuse to work with agencies

Google employees launched the petition after CBP announced it was accepting bids from private companies to provide cloud services for the agency. Over 700 Google employees have signed the petition, along with over 50 former employees and others.

The petition compared Google working with the immigration agencies to IBM working with the Nazis. The petition cites Google’s principles for developing artificial intelligence and staying within “ethical guardrails.”

Keep in mind, many of the people signing these petitions have power over the information and news we’re presented online. As Google continues to claim to be unbiased, their own employees are telling a very different story.
