Congress holding Barr and Ross in criminal contempt is 100% political theater

Democrats don’t know how to handle things when they win. It’s happened so sporadically over the last three or four years that a victory seems foreign to them. They won with the citizenship question not going on the census. Their response: Hold the Attorney General and the Secretary of Commerce in criminal contempt of Congress for not engaging further in a battle that at this point is moot.

It’s done. Gone. Fini. But there was a lingering question about a memo from a guy that may or may not have led to the inclusion of a question that, until President Obama removed it, was part of the census for decades. And since William Barr and Wilbur Ross weren’t willing to hand over the memo, they’re being charged as criminals by Congress.

This is purely political theater, folks. It’s a way for Democrats to stay in the news cycle and appear as if they’re doing something to fight the President when in all actuality this is a waste of lawmaker time and taxpayer dollars. They could take their victory on the census and move on to do the work of the people. Instead, they’re doing the work of the DNC, feeding them fodder for election time and giving leftist mainstream media something to chomp on for a day or two.

The saddest part is this cannot go anywhere and they know it. All the President has to do is invoke executive privilege and this whole mess goes away. Democrats are playing games and putting on a show because doing the will of the people isn’t their goal.
