It was easy to see what was most important to American Conservative Movement respondents before we were a quarter of the way through counting responses to our question, “Priorities: What must conservatives put at the top of the list for America?” The border crisis was cited in 92% of the responses from emails sent to 1,358 patriots, with reducing government spending second at 74%.
This was an unscientific poll, but then again polls tend to have about as much validity as the virtual paper they’re printed on. We like to use them to see trends and sentiments, not for hard data, which is why we left the question open ended. It’s better to read what the people are actually saying and how they’re saying it instead of trying to box them into a set response. For example, we counted responses as “border crisis” whether respondents said “build the wall” or “fix the asylum rules” or any variation of handling the influx of illegal immigrants in America. We want to know what people interested in the ACM really think, not what box they check on a survey.
Briefly, here are some other things happening in these early days of the ACM:
Focus on growth first
Several of you have asked why we’re not accepting donations yet. While I appreciate emails asking, “Where do I send the check,” it’s premature to start collecting money for the ACM until we have a larger base and an established infrastructure plan. We are still in the planning stages; it will be at least three months before we have enough people involved to make an impact. We are not here to make a statement or be an ideological “feel good” outlet. We want to help elect conservatives and promote American principles as they were meant when this nation was established.
Growth is the key in this early stage. To that end, those who want to help us grow can contribute to NOQ Report, the primary source we’re currently using to spread the word about the ACM. Donations can be made here. As the site promotes a conservative worldview through news reports patriots need to read, it will be the main media hub for the ACM. Traffic has tripled since March and continues to rise, but we have a long way to go before we truly reach the masses. Your donations will help the ACM grow faster.
Talking to conservative candidates
At this early stage, we are attempting to identify potential ACM candidates to support, both primary candidates to evict RINOs and general election candidates to send Democrats packing. If you are encouraged by a particular candidate, please let us know and we will start researching them.
Spread the word
The best thing anyone can do is to alert people about the rise of the American Conservative Movement. We need to reach a tipping point in growth that can match the rapid rise of anti-American elements like the Justice Democrats. What they’ve done in a short time to the Democratic Party is alarming, but it’s also an encouragement to know such things are possible without having to wait for years to see results. We intend to make the ACM the counter-movement to the leftward lurch being pushed throughout the country.
Whether it’s the border crisis, increased government spending, or the healthcare abominations being proposed by progressives, the need to get the word out about the American Conservative Movement has never been greater.
We are currently forming the American Conservative Movement. If you are interested in learning more, we will be sending out information in a few weeks.
