Vice President Mike Pence was called back to Washington DC while still in the air as an “undisclosed emergency” has occurred. No word from the White House yet about what has happened, but the abrupt return has many seeking answers.
President Trump is in DC today with no public events scheduled.
The Vice President was close to landing in New Hampshire for an event to discuss the opioid problem in the state when announcers at the event said the event was cancelled after the Vice President was called back.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been called back for an emergency as well, according to international reports. Meanwhile:

Word is still very unclear from the White House, though Pence’s office says the “emergency” is just a “diversion.”
I am told that @VP Pence's New Hampshire opiod event was cancelled because something came up and he had to be back at the White House. Official says it is not a cause for alarm.

Something came up that required the @VP to remain in Washington, DC. It’s no cause for alarm. He looks forward to rescheduling the trip to New Hampshire very soon.

As Fox News reported:
But shortly before the vice president was scheduled to arrive, an announcer at the event told the crowd that Air Force Two had been diverted because of an emergency.
“We do have a situation where the vice president was called back to Washington,” Randy Gentry, a representative of Pence’s office, told the crowd, saying the event was being cancelled.
