If you thought there were already enough incentives for illegal immigrants from Central America to take the dangerous journey to the United States, then planned legislation to be proposed by House Democrats will continue to baffle you. Instead of cutting the loopholes and removing incentives, Democrats want to dangle a huge carrot in front of “refugees” in hopes of exacerbating the border crisis.
The plan, rumored to be introduced soon, would bump up the number of refugees admitted specifically from Central American countries to 100,000. To put it into perspective, the United States took in a total of 955 Central American refugees in 2018

The solution to the border crisis is not simple, but it’s not rocket science, either. The reason migrants from Central America and around the world are coming to the United States is because they believe our weak immigration and asylum laws will allow them to stay indefinitely. The vast majority of these migrants are not actually seeking true asylum from a credible danger in their homeland. These are mostly people seeking economic prosperity, as can be gleaned from their willingness to cross illegally but then avoid their asylum hearings. Those who can demonstrate real dangers in their homeland would either cross over legally, attend their hearings, or both.
We need to cut off the incentives. This will go a long way towards stopping the problem at our southern border. But first, we need more Democrats to acknowledge the real problem. They’re pointing fingers at “concentration camps” to distract us from the fact that these people came here with a plan and a purpose. The Democrats cry at the cages they see, the cages the Obama administration built, and they throw all the blame on President Trump.
Meanwhile, the message they send to Central America is, “Come, you’re welcomed here.”
We cannot be completely blind to their plights, but we must also be cognizant of our own sovereignty. It’s one thing to allow legal immigrants to come in and contribute to the status of the United States. It’s another thing to tell the world we have plenty of everything for them when we can’t even properly service our own veterans. There’s a reason the homelessness problem is most acute in places like San Francisco, Seattle, and New York. They are run by radical progressives who put more effort into helping illegal immigrants than the American citizens suffering under their rule.
Americans need to make a very clear statement in the 2020 election: Enough is enough. The Democrats have done everything they can to make the border crisis worse than it needs to be. They’re doing this for purely political reasons. They need to be punished at the ballot box.
“The Democratic answer to this question is: Make it easier for desperate people to migrate, provided it is done in a legal and orderly fashion, in as many ways as good policy allows.” – Greg Sargent, Washington Post
This is further proof (not that we needed more) that Democrats have every intention of making the border crisis as bad as possible. They believe it will reflect well on them to pretend to be humanitarians before the 2020 election. Will truth prevail?
