Are we living in a post-truth culture? According to Abdu Murray, Senior Vice President with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries and author of “Saving Truth: Finding Meaning and Clarity in a Post-Truth World,” we clearly are and that should worry us.
There are clear distinctions between post-modernism and post-truth. In post modernism, there are no absolute truths, which by itself is a jab at Christianity. But post-truth thinking, as we’re seeing in society today, takes it a step further by saying there is no truth outside of what an individual believes or feels. This is why we’re seeing such a sharp rise in gender dysphoria, racial clashes, and so-called “tolerance” of false religions, even by many in the Christian community.
But Jesus Christ was unambiguous in his proclamations about the truth, especially in the Gospel of John:
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Jesus clearly believed in the truth. In fact, he IS the Truth. This is why our post-truth society is clearly against what the Bible teaches. Abdu Murray clearly explains this in this One-Minute Apologist video.
