Progressives loosely following the latest unhinged episode of Carlos “Gaywonk” Maza’s whining about Steven Crowder are likely unsure about how they’re supposed to feel. On one hand, they beat back the conservative comedian by getting YouTube to demonetize his channel. On the other hand, his channel is still live and getting tons of views who enjoy Crowder’s brand of humor.
But if they listen to the butt of the jokes himself, progressives will learn that Maza isn’t happy. Not at all. He has been so wronged by Crowder’s words made in jest that he wants nothing short of YouTube completely silencing his opponent. He wants him “deplatformed” just like so many conservatives in recent months. And, of course, he’ll premise his complaints by saying he has thick skin.
Sorry Carlos, but you don’t. If you had an ounce of good ol’ patriotic thick skin, you’d either ignore Crowder or attack him back. That’s what Americans do. They don’t weep to the platforms and demand justice. They call out their opponent or they show them disrespect by ignoring them as insignificant.
It’s not about having thick skin. It’s about not using deplatforming as a way of harming opponents. When rational Americans get attacked by someone on the internet, they can fight back or they can ignore them. Being vindictive and going after a person’s ability to be heard as well as earn a living is manifestly unAmerican. It’s a tactic that is generally indicative of the left because they’re unable to win arguments based on logic or intellect.
In this BlazeTV video by Jon Miller, the true colors of Carlos Maza are definitively exposed. It didn’t take much; Miller deconstructs Maza’s attacks in under 5 minutes.
Deplatforming is quickly becoming the sharpest weapon in the otherwise ineffective progressive toolbox. As big tech caters to the unhinged left, people like Steven Crowder must fight back.
