In what can only be described as the biggest slap in the face we’ve seen from Democrats and mainstream media since the border crisis ramped up late last year, reports of extreme overcrowding at border patrol centers are being blamed on the Trump administration.
You can’t make this stuff up.
After months of denial and flat-out lies from both Democrats and mainstream media, who failed to even acknowledge there was a crisis at the border until recently, the spin game has begun to take their own failures and place it on the White House, the President, and border patrol itself.
The latest bit of narrative-propelling propaganda came through USA Today, a generally centrist publication (at least compared to most mainstream media outlets) that found the nerve to spin this story as if the President hasn’t been warning about it since before his election.
U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said Border Patrol officials have been warning Congress for months that they were facing an unprecedented surge of asylum-seeking migrants. Yet the report shows, according to Thompson, that Border Patrol officials “completely and utterly failed” to prepare for the very surge they warned about, leading to the dangerous conditions inspectors found.
“The findings serve as further evidence that the Trump Administration is not just neglecting to address the crisis — they are, in fact, exacerbating it,” Thompson said in a statement.
Here’s the reality for anyone keeping score. The asylum laws that Democrats refuse to fix encourage the use of children to get their parents or other adults across and released into he interior. The wall that Democrats refused to fund would help reduce the flow of illegal immigrants. The number of beds that Democrats have capped must be increased, but funding is limited and there aren’t enough beds even allowed by the legislation Democrats pushed through.
To blame the crisis on the White House or border patrol is ludicrous. But their “no crisis” narrative proved to be false, so they switching to playing the blame game. Do they really believe Americans are that stupid? Apparently they do.
