Following the midterm elections in which pop star Taylor Swift was able to help Senator Marsha Blackburn win by endorsing her opponent, I assumed the pop star was done with politics. But lately she’s been signalling that she intends to get more political in the near future, including with her next album. Then, she had to go off and make a ludicrous anti-feminist argument with a German reported who asked her if she plans on becoming a mother.
She said it was sexist.
It wasn’t.
But hey, she’s Taylor Swift and she’s getting political.
The Daily Wire’s Andrew Klavan noted on today’s show that women and men are made differently and perform different roles. It’s true that men aren’t asked about whether or not they plan on having children because they don’t have the same biological clock issues. By this measure, it wasn’t sexist. Just because a question is more pertinent to a woman doesn’t mean that asking that is an attack on her sex.
With that said, the question is too personal.
Taylor Swift didn’t need to answer the question, but instead of saying it was sexist she should have just said it was none of the reporter’s business. By politicizing it, she wasn’t defending her privacy. She was virtue signaling.
