Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) went on with Lou Dobbs yesterday to detail what he calls a systematic attempt to coordinate between House committees so they can take down President Trump. He has called for the public release of these “memorandums of understanding” between committee leaders like Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff.
“When you put it in writing, the coordinate effort amongst the chairmen, to systematically go after the President of the United States, the guy that we all elected President, that’s what we want made public,” Jordan told Dobbs on Fox Business.
This is more than just disgruntled Democrats ahead of an election year trying to dig up dirt, though that’s obviously part of it. But the coordinated efforts on Capitol Hill are also acting as a media smokescreen to draw as much attention as possible away from the investigations into the investigators that are now finally happening. There’s likely plenty to uncover, so it behooves Democrats to continue to put pressure on the White House to keep the spotlight off of their own wrongdoings.
While it’s not uncommon for committee chairs to coordinate their efforts, it’s rare to see their coordination focused on taking down a president. They’re supposed to be coordinating to solve problems that face everyday Americans, but somehow they justify their actions on the premise that the President is doing the most harm, more than illegal immigration, more than the multitude of challenges in the Middle East, and more than the gun issues they claim to care so deeply about.
It’s important for the American people to have a transparent view of what our representatives are doing. If they are conspiring behind the scenes to do things that are counterproductive to America’s well-being as a nation, we should be made aware. Unfortunately, it’s very unlikely Jordan or anyone will be able to compel the Democrats to reveal exactly what they’re doing while pretending to do the work of the people.
“The investigation into the investigators is now underway. This day couldn’t have gotten here soon enough.” – Lou Dobbs
Members of Congress must be held accountable. They must be transparent with how they’re spending their time representing us. The Democrats in the House seem focused on one thing: attacking the President. They need to release these memos.
