The Democratic spin machine is running full-strength following the blatantly anti-Semitic statements Representative Rashida Tlaib made this past weekend. It would seem partisanship overrules common sense and demonstrable reality for the Democrats as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has joined in on spreading the false narrative that this is a Republican and right-wing attack against the Congresswoman.
Republicans’ desperate attempts to smear @RepRashida & misrepresent her comments are outrageous. President @realDonaldTrump & House GOP should apologize to Rep. Tlaib & the American people for their gross misrepresentations.

Here’s the statement that has those opposed to anti-Semitic bigotry up in arms (emphasis ours):
“There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports. And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.”
Instead of correcting the clear falsehoods and acknowledging her anti-Semitic statement, Tlaib doubled down with a press release trying to spin her words into something they were not.

Tlaib’s closest ally in Congress, fellow freshman Representative Ilhan Omar, attacked those who have condemned Tlaib’s remarks, specifically targeting Representative Liz Cheney by making this a “Muslim” issue despite the fact that Cheney’s Tweet quoted Tlaib directly.
Give it up, we all know you never met a Muslim you didn’t want to vilify!
Your deep seeded hate and Islamophobia might be a tool to rally your base, but won’t get rid your colleagues. You just have to deal 💁🏽♀️ https://t.co/hMvvxLnmp5

The actual history of Palestinian involvement in WWII was that they sought to eliminate Jews from the region, worked with the Nazis, and immediately went to war with Israel following its formation. This is what Tlaib’s statement claims to have actually been the source of her “calm feeling” regarding the Holocaust. In an attempt to spin, they’re actually acknowledging her words were much worse than we initially believed.
Even CNN had to fact-check her.

John King: Tlaib "ignored the fact that Palestinian leaders at the time allied themselves with Hitler and that total war is how the Arab world reacted to the declaration of Israeli independence." pic.twitter.com/mvSa7gTn4P

We demand Congress immediately censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her vile comments about the holocaust and her subsequent attempts to spread a revised history of the role Palestinians played before, during and after the events of WWII.
