Activist judges have acted with impunity for decades. Some believe they are above the law simply because of their position within the criminal justice system. This can make them feel like they’re justified when they commit crimes because they either believe their reasoning is sound, they don’t believe they’ll get caught, or both.
Whatever motivated Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph to allegedly help a criminal illegal alien to escape the waiting clutches of ICE agents following a hearing, it seems to be a clear-cut case of obstructions of justice and other crimes. The illegal immigrant she allegedly helped goes by the names Jose Medina-Perez, Oscar Manuel Peguero, and several others.
The criminal alien shielded by the indicted sanctuary judge was later released by an immigration judge. 38-yo citizen of DR, deported in 2003 & 2007…Real name is Oscar Manuel Peguero, altho he goes by several aliases." Also wanted in PA on DUI.

He has been deported twice already and is back in the United States illegally for a third time.
Let’s be clear about one thing since the narrative seems to be shifting in favor of leftists on this issue. Illegal immigrants being pursued by ICE are not victims. They are not harmless “undocumented migrants” who would contribute greatly to this country if they’re allowed to evade the law. Most are not necessarily dangerous, but they do steal sovereignty by not respecting our immigration system and they affect Americans, especially legal immigrants, in a negative way.
Some, of course, are truly dangerous.
The left is arguing that this “interference” by a U.S. Attorney is out of line because it’s a state issue. They also claim this will have a “cooling” effect on other judges and public officials. To their first argument, I would remind them the charges are federal charges and her alleged actions were against a federal agency on behalf of an illegal immigrant. That argument is idiotic; claiming some perverted understanding of federalism as justification for obstruction of justice is insulting. As for the second argument… good. I hope this does have a chilling effect that may prevent other judges from also allegedly breaking the law.
Judges must learn they’re not above the law. Being in a sanctuary city or state does not give any official the right to obstruct justice. Would Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph help an American citizen evade justice? Of course not.
“Look, judges are not supposed to be in the business of obstructing justice. And as far as I can tell, based on the facts as they were presented, she clearly violated the court’s own policies with respect to the way they’re supposed to handle continuance and involve federal immigration enforcement.” Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker
We have enough challenges facing us with a broken visa overstay prevention policy, obtuse immigration laws, and a porous southern border. The last thing we need is an activist judge with delusions of grandeur obstructing justice.
Petition Capitol Hill for Term Limits
Sign the petition. We demand Congress immediately put together legislation that spells out term limits for themselves. Americans need to know who is willing to suppress their own power for the sake of the nation. This can only happen by bringing legislation to the floor.
