Fox News contributor Kat Timpf was on with Neil Cavuto today talking about many topics, including attempts by many Democrats to bring President Trump up for impeachment. As she noted, it likely wouldn’t pass in the House and almost certainly wouldn’t work in the Senate, but the efforts may be enough to actually strengthen the President.
“It would make President Trump more popular,” she said. “It would make them look petty and it would make President Trump look like a victim and a sympathetic figure.”
If the House were to vote to draw up articles of impeachment, it would then go to the Senate where a super-majority would be needed to actually impeach him. The chances of this happening based on what we know so far from the Mueller report is essentially zilch.
As our EIC noted, this is nothing but sound and fury to drive the narrative for the Democrats.
Some on the right are trying to talk Democrats out of impeachment. I tend to agree with Timpf. If they want to do it, by all means go for it. Demonstrate to America how petty your caucus really is. Then we’ll move on to 2020.
