How exploding diaper costs demonstrate the crisis at the border

How exploding diaper costs demonstrate the crisis at the border

Democrats have been caught in a feedback loop for months over border security. They can’t reconcile their narrative with the reality at the border, yet they continue to repeat the same talking points for leftist media to regurgitate to the masses. But one look at the cost of diapers and other baby supplies should be enough to alert people that the border crisis is real and getting worse every day.

According to a Yuma Sector report, CBP is on track to pay over $1.2 million for diapers, formula, and other baby supplies due to the rising number of illegal immigrant and asylum-seeking migrant families crossing in the region. Last year, baby expenses totaled around $300,000, marking a cost increase that has quadrupled year-over-year.

That doesn’t take into account the multitude of families who are released to the interior where the baby expenses are paid for using other means.

The left may be able to play “hammer the narrative” by spinning the media in their favor based solely on their collective hatred for President Trump, but numbers don’t lie and neither do the CBP reports. They’ve done everything they can to ring the alarm bells, but DC continues to stick its head in the sand. There’s always a more important topic to cover. Horror stories at the border have become so commonplace that many have been desensitized to them.

Slowly but surely, the left is winning the narrative battle by making people yawn every time the border crisis is brought to their attention.

America needs to address this problem immediately. There should be nothing higher on the agenda of lawmakers on Capitol Hill than to get more agents to the border, better technology, more beds, better supplies, a wall, and better laws with fewer loopholes through which illegal aliens and asylum-seeking migrants can wiggle their way into staying in the country indefinitely without going through the proper legal channels.

It isn’t just about the exploding diaper costs, though. There’s a negative trickle down effect that’s at play here helping dangerous people cross the border unnoticed. Every agent that’s made to act like a daycare employee for migrant children is an agent who’s not stopping drug smugglers and gang members from crossing illegally in the dead of night. Every agent who’s forced to be a paperwork clerk to the masses of migrants signing up for their pass to the interior – aka waiting for an asylum hearing – is an agent who could be stopping terrorists from coming into the country to wage war against American citizens.

The border situation is so far beyond a disaster it’s impressive how neglectful the media and Democrats have been able to be. This level of denial is unprecedented in American politics. Meanwhile, our sovereignty is slipping away.

Illegal alien Billy Chemirmir charged in 12 murders, was never ordered for deportation

Illegal alien Billy Chemirmir charged in 12 murders was never ordered for deportation

It may be more difficult than it should be to deport illegal immigrants in America, but when they are convicted of crimes, it’s a realistic expectation that they should be deported, especially when they’re arrested in a state like Texas. But that wasn’t the case with Billy Chemirmir who was arrested four times without deportation. Now, he’s being charged with a dozen murders.

The 46-year-old Kenyan national had been arrested for DWI twice, criminal trespassing, and domestic assault, yet he was not deported. His last arrest in 2018 was for murder. Now, 11 more charges have been handed to him, all surrounding the murders of elderly women.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told The Daily Caller that an immigration detainer for Chemirmir was filed with Dallas County Jail in March 2018, but that he’s not currently in the agency’s custody.

Opinion

I’m truly at a loss for words on this case. It’s not like he was hiding under a rock, undetected by law enforcement. It’s not like they didn’t know he was an illegal immigrant. And it’s not like this happened in a sanctuary city. This happened in Texas. He was arrested four times. Yet he was still allowed to roam, work, and allegedly commit murder.

It’s important to note that this is not a case of our porous southern border. Records are unclear of how he came to live and work in America in the first place, but if it was another case of visa overstay, then this will be a slightly different case than we’ve seen in recent weeks. He wasn’t a gang member who came over with migrants. This goes to show that those in the country illegally all need to be examined more closely. We have enough issues with citizens committing crimes. We don’t need even more criminals on the streets.

Quote

“This guy should’ve been detected but wasn’t. In our case, they had him just wandering around the apartment for three hours.” – Richard Arnold, Lawyer for a Victim’s Family

Final Thoughts

If we aren’t deporting illegal immigrants who have been arrested four times in Texas, how can we expect any criminal illegal aliens to be deported? The system is broken. We need to rethink everything about immigration.

‘Serial rapist’ DREAMer Carlos Eduardo confesses to Houston area sexual assaults

Serial rapist DREAMer Carlos Eduardo confesses to Houston area sexual assaults

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals executive order by President Obama has a new set of victims as a Houston man has confessed to two rapes and one attempted rape.

Carlos Eduardo, 18, confessed to following women home from a 24-hour gym, then forcing them by gunpoint into his car. He would then drive them to an isolated location and sexually assault them, according to police.

“He would sit in the parking lot and watch them walk to their cars,” said Chief Josh Bruegger from the Pasadena Police Department.

An anonymous tip led police to Eduardo’s conspicuous lime green Ford Mustang. It appeared he was attempting to change the appearance of the vehicle after CCTV video was released with his vehicle visible.

Opinion

One would be hard pressed to find a mainstream media report even mentioning Eduardo’s immigration status. The left is losing the narrative on the border crisis and other elements of the illegal immigration problem, so the last thing they want to lose is the final remnant of positive credibility they have with DACA.

In other words, they need the perceptions of DREAMers to stay clean.

To be fair, the rates of crimes committed by DREAMers is not noticeably higher than crimes committed by American citizens in the same age groups and locations, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’ve increased crime levels by virtue of their presence in America. Currently, there’s nothing that can be done to demonstrate how crime rates can be reduced because DREAMers are at the bottom of the priority list for most opponents of illegal immigration.

And maybe that’s how it should be.

I’d almost be willing to forget about DACA altogether if we could simply stop the flow of illegal immigrants currently entering the country. Almost. People like Eduardo are a stark reminder that not all DREAMers are innocent, worthy contributors to American society.

Quote

“I believe this was the beginning of a serial rapist. We have three cases. Any time you have that, it scares the community, and it should. That’s really why I wanted this to be a priority. I have a wife, I have daughters; this is the last thing you want out there is a serial rapist on the streets.” – Chief Josh Bruegger

Final Thoughts

This is just another angle of the multi-headed monster of illegal immigration. Border security, asylum loopholes, visa overstays, and the lack of a wall are all problems, but let’s not forget DACA still looms over America.

Petition demanding migrants waiting for asylum hearing be housed on Mexican side of the border

Petition demanding migrants waiting for asylum hearing be housed on Mexican side of the border

The border crisis is completely out of control. Limitations set by Congress in the last budget have prevented CBP from being able to house the mass migrant groups crossing the border illegally every day. Most who claim asylum are released to the interior and may or may not appear for their hearings that are scheduled months or years in advance. In the meantime, they’re free to move about the country.

This is completely unacceptable. If the United States is to be a sovereign nation, we must be allowed to control who enters and stays in the nation. The problem has grown to the point that we can no longer even feign control, and those who want to breach our borders know this.

On the other side of the equation, we cannot simply deport them. This goes against our asylum laws; those who rightfully seek asylum cannot be harmed for the sake of those who do so without just cause. Therefore, deportation prior to their hearing is impossible.

The only viable solution is for the United States to make a deal with Mexico to establish humane temporary housing for them on the Mexican side of the border. This would be must less expensive than the current costs paid to house and track the thousands of migrants who cross over daily, not to mention the costs associated with dealing with them while they’re roaming the country freely. It would be the safest conditions possible for migrants, many of whom are released to the streets of the various cities taking migrants across the country. Even our generous charitable organizations have been unable to keep up.

We demand negotiations begin immediately between the United States and Mexican governments to house migrants on the Mexican side of the border until their asylum hearing date. This benefits migrants and Americans alike.
