Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has been at the center of controversy yet again after casually categorizing 9/11 as “some people did something.” The President Tweeted a video of her saying her infamous line multiple times while scenes from the 9/11 terrorist attacks played in between.
For this, the President has been accused by Ilhan, Democrats, and mainstream media journalists as inciting violence against her.
Let’s take a brief, sober look at exactly what happened. The President showed clips of Ilhan saying what she said, then reminded America that 9/11 was more than some people doing something. I’m not a fan of how the President Tweets sometimes, but I thought this was an appropriate response to an elected official who clearly needed a history lesson on what actually happened on September 11, 2001.
But that’s not how it’s being characterized.
On the flip side, calls for actual violence are made regularly by radical progressives. DailyWire‘s Ryan Saavedra made a brief list of times when actual violence was being incited by leftists:

Inciting violence is prevalent on both sides of the political aisle. It’s part of human’s evil nature to get angry and lash out in ways that are violent or calling for violence and in these charged political times, there is no shortage of hatred being thrown from both sides. But the way mainstream media covers incitement is exceptionally one-sided. Leftists often get a pass. Imagine if a celebrity held up an image of President Obama’s severed head. Do you think they’d still be getting invited to events and smiling before the camera like Kathy Griffin is?
Then, there’s the MAGA hat. I don’t own one. I can’t imagine ever wearing one; I’m not really a hat guy. But I’d never look at someone wearing any hat and decide they need to be attacked. Yet it happens regularly.

We must not let leftist media control the narrative on inciting violence. They willfully ignore left-on-right attacks while painting relevant criticism against leftists as a death sentence. Reality needs to win this argument.

They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
