That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. – Romans 10:9 (KJV)
There are two components to the path described here for salvation. First, we must confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus. A distinction must be made between what most attribute as the meaning of this verse and what it really means. Confessing the Lord Jesus is not just calling His name or stating a belief in Him. It means to truly confess and repent as Yeshua instructed. The second part, believing in our hearts that God has raised Him, is acknowledging that Yeshua is our Lord and Savior who has risen after dying for our sins.
This has long been one of my favorite verses because it’s crystal clear. No need for debate or argumentative interpretation when the instruction is this straight forward. I love challenges, but the easy button is great from time to time.
