The people who voted for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are starting to miss Joe Crowley

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is making enemies in all the wrong places. As she charges around the country, across the airwaves, and on social media pushing grandiose ideas like the Green New Deal and Medicare-for-All, residents in her hometown of The Bronx are wondering why the can’t seem to get any of her attention.

Former police officer Anthony Vitaliano told New York Post: “She has to address these local issues. Her district is everywhere else in the US. Her heart is not in The Bronx.”

Ocasio-Cortez unseated Joe Crowley in the 2018 Democratic primaries. Crowley was popular and very participatory in local governance in his district, attending or sending his representative Thomas Messina to attend community board meetings.

“Tommy cared about us,” Vitaliano said.

The freshman Congresswoman has thus far been absent from the place that elected her.

“I thought AOC would be our savior, but that’s not the case,” complained Roxanne Delgado, a local activist who said she has tried for months to get in touch with the congresswoman for help saving an animal shelter and to clean up parks in the district.

Delgado, 40, says she has made numerous calls to Ocasio-Cortez’s offices in Washington and Queens and sent a barrage of tweets after the freshman lawmaker encouraged residents during a recent visit to a Bronx public library to hit her up on social media.

But she’s heard nothing back.

“NO email or contact on @AOC’s page except DC number which has full #voicemail and no one picks up,” Delgado tweeted on Monday.

Ocasio-Cortez has become arguably the most controversial and influential freshman representative in American history after just three months in office. She made a splash early on by using her social media skills to play to the people and quickly defined herself far to the left of the Democratic establishment. A former Bernie Sanders volunteer, Ocasio-Cortez has branched out to push ideas that make the Democratic Socialist Senator seem like a moderate.

Much of this can be attributed to her handlers, the Justice Democrats. They are using her and people like her as a launching pad through which they can take over the Democratic Party and get a foothold to control Washington DC. Their radical progressive ideologies are both dangerous and brilliant. They’re dangerous because if they’re ever implemented, it would spell doom for the United States of America. They’re brilliant because they’re positioned in a way that they might actually become a reality.

It’s time for the Democrats to handle Ocasio-Cortez. That means a serious primary challenger in 2020, one who can expose her hyper-leftism as dangerous while bringing sanity back to a party that is lurching to the left.
