FBI reviewing circumstances behind Jussie Smolletts dropped charges Report

Most who were paying attention to the circumstances behind actor Jussie Smollett’s dropped charges yesterday had to be scratching their heads about it all. After Chicago police put together what they considered to be an ironclad case against the hoaxer, prosecutors decided to drop all 16 charges against him, claiming he was already good by their measure since he did 18 hours of community service and released his $10,000 bond to the city.

But by the afternoon, questions started swirling around the connection between Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff and a trail of exchanges that seemed to lead to Smollett’s exoneration. Calls for an investigation into the prosecution’s motives for dropping charges hit full tilt by the evening, and according to a Chicago reporter who has two sources confirming it, the FBI is reviewing everything.

Chicago ABC 7 reporter Rob Elgas Tweeted: “BREAKING: Two law enforcement officials briefed on the matter tell the FBI is *reviewing* circumstances surrounding dismissal of criminal charges against Jussie Smollett. ABC News is told this is not an investigation. It is a “review” or “inquiry”.”

He continued:

My Take

Hey, a “review” or “inquiry” is fine by me as long as it turns into an investigation with charges made that some random prosecutor in the Obama’s pocket doesn’t dismiss. Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx clearly has some explaining to do.

The longer this sits, the smellier it gets. In barely over a day, the odor from the whole Jussie Smollett “exoneration” is terrible already. Here’s hoping the FBI will take charge, not get swayed by the Obamas, and put the corrupted folks behind bars.

Will you help revive the American Conservative Movement?
