When I read the initial headlines, I was very pleased with President Trump. His push to prevent schools from quashing conservative voices on campus is a long-overdue move that gave me hope we might actually start seeing the stifling of free thought coming to an end.
Then I read the articles and had to scratch my head.
“Student loan debt, I’m going to work to fix it. Because it’s outrageous what’s happening. You’re not given that fair start. You’re too far down. It’s not right and we’re going to work very, very hard to get it fixed,” the President said.
If these exact words were spoken by a Democratic candidate for President, most Republicans and every true conservative would be up in arms talking about personal responsibility and the necessity for students to acknowledge the agreement they willfully entered into by going to a college they couldn’t afford. But since the words were spoken by President Trump, I’m hearing radio silence on social media.
Hundreds of conservatives have seen my Tweet, but few dare acknowledge it for fear of being seen as critical to the President.
If Bernie or Beto said this, Republicans would balk. "Student loan debt, I'm going to work to fix it. Because it's outrageous what's happening. You're not given that fair start. You're too far down. It's not right and we're going to work very, very hard to get it fixed."

But, that’s the minor part. As an optimist, I’m inclined to focus on the positive.
We absolutely need the government to stop funding institutions that refuse to allow freedom of thought on their campuses. It’s our lot in life that conservatism is spurned by educators and administrators in these progressive indoctrination centers, but that’s partially our fault. While conservatives were busy applying their knowledge to the real world, leftists filled the void to teach about it. It’s our long-running mistake that we allowed the halls of learning to become leftist reprogramming institutions. Now, our only recourse in the immediate future is to bring conservative perspectives in hopes of reaching those who haven’t had their logic and reason dismantled by university life.
The President’s actions are a great step towards making that happen. Just as funding Planned Parenthood is idiotic considering the political divide in which they operate (they donate millions to Democrats while receiving money from the government), it’s equally dysfunctional to pay schools while they work feverishly to subvert the very concepts that built this nation, including the Constitution, free speech, and the American exceptionalism that once relied on personal responsibility to hold account to our success as a nation.
Let’s hope nothing comes from the notion that schools are to blame for student debt. Instead, we’ll focus on schools being to blame for stifling conservatives and indoctrinating children. That’s the good news in all this.
Will you help revive the American Conservative Movement?
Covid variant BA.5 is spreading. It appears milder but much more contagious and evades natural immunity. Best to boost your immune system with new Z-Dtox and Z-Stack nutraceuticals from our dear friend, the late Dr. Vladimir Zelenko.
I see the two as linked and I’m sure the President is seeing the same linkage.
The “schools” [indoctrination centers] won’t see it until the government guarantee, and therefore the actual loans, are impacted.
Wait till the most egregious violators of ~real~ freedom of speech, not the PC fake free speech are decertified for eligibility for student loan guarantees. The wailing will be deafening and the fake outrage and anguish will see wall to wall coverage by the “outraged” fake news outlets.
I’ll give you eight to five odds that some leftist judge will try to enjoin the loan guarantee process.
