Fox News host Jeanine Pirro has stirred up plenty of controversy on Twitter today after going on a mini-rant about where Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) gets her antisemitic views. They aren’t coming from the Democratic Party, according to Pirro, though some may argue the party has been anti-Israel for much longer than Omar’s been on Capitol Hill.
In the midst of her rant, she noted that Omar wears a hijab, the traditional head covering worn by many Muslim women around the world and required in certain cultures. According to Pirro, this tradition is rooted in sharia law. As Pirro rightly noted, sharia law in antithetical to the United States Constitution.
Here’s the blurb that has Twitter all aflutter:

Reactions on Twitter were as expected. Those who support Pirro or oppose sharia law were quick to defend her report, saying nothing she said was not factual. Her detractors, of course, pulled out the Islamophobia card. None of that’s important.
What’s concerns me most and drew my attention instantly once I noted it is that Twitter’s treatment of the news was to put as their “top story” a report from TIME Magazine in 2016. What does that have to do with now? It’s all about narrative and they liked the message the article sent.
Obviously, this is a far-left opinion piece that’s three years old, has nothing to do with the topic at hand, and attacks conservative perspectives on sharia law and the Constitution. So why post it as the “Top Story” about a Fox News host claiming a member of the House of Representatives practices sharia law? It’s all about the narrative.
We’ll see this more and more in the coming days, months, and years. The attempts to normalize antisemitism are closely tied to the attempt to destigmatize sharia law. One narrative cannot exist without the other narrative firmly in place. That’s why they’re rarely talked about in the same conversations but always tied together in longer discussions.
America is at a crossroads when it comes to the Constitution and our national sovereignty. One does not have to be Islamophobic or against Muslims to recognize the dangers of sharia law. One also does not have to be all in favor of the actions of the Israeli government in order to recognize the fallacy of the antisemitic rhetoric being spouted by people like Ilhan Omar.
This Tweet by David Horowitz should make perfect sense:
Islam is a theocratic totalitarian religion – no separation of church and state, misogynistic view of women, bigoted hatred for gays, genocidal attitudes towards Jews and infidels generally, which includes Christians and Hindus etc. https://t.co/6agOi1xfof

Leftist propaganda is going to do everything it can to paint sharia law in a positive light. They are all for placing it on a pedestal now, but what happens if they ever have to live under it? Me thinks their perspectives may change.
