Bloomberg isn’t running for President

Bloomberg isnt running for President

The perennial “maybe” among Democratic candidates for president has, once again, declared he’s not running in 2020. Billionaire Michael Bloomberg has announced he will not be running based on the growing size of the field.

“I am clear-eyed about the difficulty of winning the Democratic nomination in such a crowded field,” he wrote.

Bloomberg, 77, has been all over the political spectrum through his years in politics, business, and activism. A former Republican and mayor of New York City, his staunch gun control stance and push to fight climate change have made him the moderate choice on multiple occasions without ever yielding a run.

This is good news for Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, the other two old rich white men expected to run. Sanders has already announced his candidacy while Biden has remained on the fence.

My Take

I really like Michael Bloomberg as a person even though his authoritarian stances are far to leftist for me. Nevertheless, he’s been the common sense voice within the Democratic Party who, compared to the far-left radicals lining up to run, seemed nearly moderate.

With that said, it’s a shame that he couldn’t sink his money into attacking other candidates. That would have been better for the GOP than his current plan of using his resources to support a leftist agenda regardless of the candidate.

Eric Swalwell interview by Chris Wallace demonstrates why he’s not a factor in the presidential race

Eric Swalwell interview by Chris Wallace demonstrates why hes not a factor in the presidential race

I’ve always been a firm believer in policy over personality. In fact, I don’t talk very often about a politician’s personality because some of the worst policies have accompanied great personalities while some great policies are sunk by poor personalities supporting them. With the currant herd of Democratic candidates not to the point of thinning out yet, it takes a very poor personality to make me comment, especially considering all of the bad policies already being tossed out there.

Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) has the type of personality that’s worth noting even at this stage. He has the charisma of a pufferfish and demonstrated this very clearly talking to Chris Wallace this morning on Fox News.

I thought Senator Kamala Harris had an unlikable personality, but she’s practically Keanu Reeves compared to Swalwell. He comes across insincere when he tries so, so hard to sound sincere. His arguments are bland and his passion seems to be manufactured. I went to Twitter to see what’s being said about him and coincidentally found our EIC with a funny Tweet about him, again dealing with Swalwell’s personality.

The reality is there are MAYBE five or six candidates who have a legitimate shot at the nomination, and Eric Swalwell isn’t in the top 10 right now. With a personality like his, he might not be in the top 10 in a field of 11.

Pompous progressive elites and Prop 47 have destroyed San Francisco

Pompous progressive elites and Prop 47 have destroyed San Francisco

San Francisco defies logic. On one hand, it’s one of the most upscale cities in the nation with an average home costing around $800,000. On the other hand, it ranks at the top in the nation for property crime. It’s also become known as a utopia for those who like to use the streets as a restroom and has more drug addicts on the streets that children in the public school system.

No city in the nation gives a clearer example of income disparity than San Francisco. The logic question should be, “How can this be?” Aren’t progressives supposed to be the champions of the poor? Aren’t they the ones fighting to get free stuff to the people, to make the rich pay their fair share? Hasn’t San Francisco been recently shown to be the shining example of what radical progressives want for the rest of the country?

To answer these questions, we have to debunk a premise that’s widespread despite clear evidence against it. Far-left progressives are not truly interested in helping the poor. They need the poor. They need people who will continue to vote for failed policies that are designed to keep the poor down because if they were ever allowed to improve their economic position, they’d realize that fiscal conservatism makes more sense. They would be more inclined to vote for Republicans, which is why the Democrats have been continuous in their attempts to appear to be helping the poor by putting out policies that directly harm them.

One needs only look at the provisions of Prop 47 to see the lies at work. It was intended to “help” the poor by removing the stigma and penalties surrounding “low level crimes.” Carrying drugs for personal use or stealing less than $950 worth of someone else’s property are no longer felonies. This keeps police from arresting, pursuing, or investigating incidents that do not break the misdemeanor threshold.

This was meant to “help” the poor by making it less likely they will go to jail for their crimes. Stop and think about that for a moment. They are “helping” the poor by making it more likely they will be victims of crimes committed by others who are poor. This is progressive logic at its finest.

As a result, crime is on the rise. But by their newly manipulated numbers, felonies are going down. Why? Because it’s not harder to commit what can be considered a felony.

My daughter experienced this firsthand a couple of years ago. Her purse with $400 was stolen from her at the beach. She put it down next to her friend’s purse less than 10 feet from them. When they went to retrieve their purses, they were gone. The police came and apologized for not being able to do anything about it. Unfortunately, it was only a misdemeanor and not worthy of their efforts to try to find the criminals responsible.

Thankfully, my daughter was in a position to not be too hurt by the theft, but it made her concerned about others. What if it was a single-mother who had her purse stolen? What if that $400 was all she had and now she needed to figure out how to get food and diapers for the rest of the month. What if this single “low level crime” event started a chain reaction of events that eventually led to her either committing crimes of her own or getting desperate for the sake of her family? All of this is conceivable.

The problem is the elites in the progressive left see things differently. They look at the numbers of incarcerated people, many of whom would be Democratic voters if they didn’t commit their crimes, and realize they need to do what they can to keep criminals from going to jail. It’s not just about the votes. It’s about the perception of crime. As it rises, they look terrible. Their policies look terrible. Their actions look horrible. They get exposed as frauds and elitists when crime is high, so they react by changing the math.

Felonies are down in San Francisco… a progressive victory! But the reality is that crimes are up, and the crimes that were once considered to be felonies are way, way up. One need only walk the streets of San Francisco in broad daylight (walking at night is not advised) to see the reality of progressive elites who see $950 of stolen property as no big deal. They see drug users on the streets shooting up with their own personal stash and they feel they are being compassionate by allowing this to continue. The see feces on every street and think, “at least they’re not dirtying up my local Starbucks.”

The elite progressives are the very reason San Francisco has become a hellhole. They show us manipulated numbers proving success while a quick stroll in downtown tells a very different truth. And they want this for the whole country.

Why Democrats continue supporting the anti-Semitic BDS movement

Why Democrats continue supporting the anti-Semitic BDS movement

Germany gets it. Republicans get it. Jews get it. A growing number of Americans are starting to get it. Why is it that the Democratic Party refuses to acknowledge that the Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) Movement is a purely anti-Semitic organization that not only attacks Zionism and the efforts of Israel but also the existence of Jews in the Middle East and around the world?

Their perspectives on the issue are so obtuse, one has to wonder how much longer they can keep it up. Unfortunately, the answer is they can keep it up indefinitely.

Germans Get It, Why Don’t Pro-BDS Democrats?

The Democratic Party has embraced anti-Semitism to the point that they’re trying to normalize it. There are some in their camp who are fighting against it, particularly Jews like Senator Chuch Schumer, but their power is dwindling and their ranks are shrinking. The New Democrats, represented by the rise of people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar, are bent on breaking the connection between the United States and Israel.

Moreover, they’re working to suppress the voice of Jews within America, preferring to raise the voices of Muslims and any group that will oppose Israel’s very existence. One such group is the BDS Movement.

There is more danger to the future of America’s relationship with Israel than just a handful of Democratic Congresswomen. The real danger lies in their ability to sway the perspectives of the American people and other lawmakers, including the vast majority who jumped in the Democratic presidential nomination clown car. An unspoken criteria for support by the New Democrats of these would-be presidents is that they must oppose Israel’s actions at every turn and work to split the United States from our only true ally in the Middle East.

This is all part of the plan.

If ever there was a case for the words of Ephesians 6:12 holding sway through principalities and powers infiltrating Washington DC, one need only look for those who support BDS. This is exactly what Paul warned about. The fact that it’s being effective in its efforts despite obvious opposition to the truth leads many to believe the influence is supernatural in nature.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The New Democrats want Israel to be destroyed just as surely as Hamas, Iran, or the BDS Movement do. They will hide behind talk of patriotism, but what they really want is for the United States to allow Israel to stand alone.
