Over the weekend, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez put out a video while cooking. It was endearing to her base (OMG she even cooks for herself!) and gave her an opportunity to vent on everything under the sun, especially Senator Dianne Feinstein.
It was a nice video, one we’ve grown accustomed to coming from the freshman Representative from New York. It was also full of emptiness of ideas, as we’ve also grown accustomed to in her short time on Capitol Hill.
Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh went after her today. Perhaps more accurately, he went after the people in DC who aren’t trying to stop her. They just let her go about rallying people behind ludicrous ideas as if there’s nothing to worry about.
But Limbaugh wasn’t having it. He watched her video and had a response that was quite truthful:
“Her appliances run on gas or electricity. The produce we assume that she’s eating is brought to her by trucks that are fueled with gasoline or diesel. Her apartment is nice and warm, and there’s not a solar panel anywhere around, and no windmill. She’s got this really nice, warm, cozy life, easy access to food because of the massive infrastructure born of fossil fuels, and she wants to rip it apart.”
She’s just trying to get by, “Alex from the block,” but what she doesn’t say is how her ideas are impossible to implement without destroying the very core of our economy and the nature of our country itself.
