The Green New Deal is even worse than we expected and we expected it to be horrible

Some details of the Green New Deal were released today. It was the fluffy part, the one that details how they’re going to save the world with more government. The party they didn’t get into was the less fluffy part, the one they like to avoid whenever possible. How are they going to pay for it?

Radical progressives will tell us the issue of paying for it has already been settled. They’ll simply add to our debt and pay it off by dramatically increasing taxes against the rich. Of course, those numbers don’t add up, either. Increasing income tax on the richest of the rich will result in hundreds of billions of dollars of additional revenue over a decade. But initial estimates for PARTS of the Green New Deal clock in around $2 TRILLION. They could take very penny earned by the richest of the rich and it still wouldn’t pay for the deal.

Cost ambiguity aside, it’s the other things being attached to the environmental aspects of the plan that should worry us. They’re not just wanting to save the environment. They’ve plugged in standard socialist principles that somehow have something to do with saving the planet.

Oh, is that all?

Thankfully, even Democrats are skeptical of the quaint ideas of the far-left in their party.

This is pretty straight forward. We need to tell as many people as possible that the Green New Deal has much more to it than we even knew. It’s bad. It’s really bad. And America has to know.
