Roger Stone says he won’t pull a Michael Cohen

Following reports that Roger Stone was willing to work with Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian hacking of the 2016 election, he went on Fox News to set the record straight, claiming he wasn’t going to do as former Trump lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen has done.

“I’m not going to do what Michael Cohen has done,” Stone told Laura Ingraham on her Fox News show. “I’m not going to make up lies or bear false witness against Donald Trump or anyone else.”

He characterized his intended cooperation as more logistical than anything that could hurt the President or those around him.

My Take

I’ve watched Stone for years and this is the most lucid and coherent I’ve seen him. Nobody doubts that he’s a clever man, nor can the question his loyalty to the President. It’s good seeing him in such high spirits despite a very solid case against him.
