It's time for conservatives to say goodbye to institutions that advance radical progressivism

At first glance, this statement seems like a no-brainer for many conservative Americans. We vote at the ballot box. Some of us vote with our feet. Is it time to vote with our dollars? Before you answer that, it’s good to consider what that would entail.
One example of saying goodbye to everything or everyone advancing radical progressivism would be abandoning the vast majority of programs and movies that come out of Hollywood. Many already have; I used to go to the movies at least twice a month. Now, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been to the theater in the last two years.
Are you willing to spend all of your movie and television entertainment time and money on right-leaning shows? Would you agree to only see movies made by those who have a conservative philosophy? Before you answer that, keep in mind it’s difficult to find productions that fit these very loose criteria. Unless you’re really into documentaries (and even then, there aren’t many), it may be more challenging than you think. That’s the nature of Hollywood.
How about online? Are you ready to abandon Google, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter? All are run by overtly progressive executive teams who unabashedly support leftist causes and candidates. They all have a tendency to favor progressives with their various algorithms. The alternatives are usually too small to make any real impact on their market share. That means conservatives who stop using these platforms might have a hard time replacing them with the same level of available content.
One might think I’m trying to talk people out of it, but I’m not. I would absolutely love if more conservatives let our behaviors and dollars reflect a desire that benefits right-leaning institutions like Chick-Fil-A, Hobby Lobby, and Patriot Mobile. But I want to make sure that everyone who’s considering this understands what it truly entails. Embracing companies on the right negates engagement with many of the most popular aspects of everyday life.
But it’s necessary. How much of our income goes to companies that betray our philosophies? Why should we support those who are bent on tearing down America? Can we call ourselves true patriots when we embrace Hollywood, social media, and institutions that oppose what’s best for our country?
Over the next few weeks, I’d like to start highlighting conservative companies and institutions. If you know of any that need to be brought to a more public light, please recommend them in the comments.
