One of my favorite speakers in America is Pastor Voddie Baucham. He isn’t just one of my favorite pastors or religious figures to watch. He’s one of the best speakers, period. When he gets started on a discussion about the education system in America, prepare yourself for a very passionate call for homeschooling.
Baucham and his wife have homeschooled their nine children, not because it’s easier or even cheaper but because they cannot bear to send their kids to the indoctrination centers of America, better known as the education system. As he often says…
“We cannot continue to send our children to Caesar for their education and be surprised when they come home as Romans.”
The logical fallacy comes into play when most Bible-believing Christians question what’s being taught to their children, yet continue to let their children attend these schools. They are our children. They’re our responsibility.
Homeschooling isn’t for everyone, but those who have the resources and drive to do so should try. If possible, Christ-centered private school is another alternative but it’s not the best approach for many. Either way is better than sending our children through the modern public school system.
