The late Charles Krauthammer witnessed many elections in his life. He saw the transition from the common “clean” election campaigns to the occasional “dirty” campaigns, only to be completely replaced in the last two or three elections with the constant mudslinging that occurs in literally every election.
Whether it’s the campaigns themselves or the more common modern technique of letting PACs sling the mud everywhere, our election seasons have turned into hate-filled UFC grudge matches. Perhaps WWE is a better analogy.
