The ambitious project of Glenn Beck merged with the spawn of LevinTV to form Blaze Media, now one of the largest conservative media outlets. The conservative media giant is now poised to more ably compete with other main stream media outlets. The merger comes at a time following the well documented struggles of TheBlaze, but it also comes at a time when Fox News is waning in popularity among conservative viewers. The new platform, Blaze Media, boasts its ability to reach 165 million people.
Statement Highlights
Effective immediately, subscribers to CRTV and TheBlaze Premium will have access to the digital streaming content of both CRTV and TheBlaze talent, including over 30 original shows. Blaze Media’s television lineup will include popular conservative programming like “The Glenn Beck Program,” “LevinTV,” “Louder with Crowder,” “The News and Why it Matters,” and “America,” hosted by Eric Bolling. The merger will also allow Blaze Media to expand its lineup of linear programming in 2019 to reach its cable and satellite television audiences.
The company will be led by co-presidents Tyler Cardon, who was formerly president of TheBlaze, and Gaston Mooney, who was formerly the president of CRTV.
Blaze Media provides news, opinion, and entertainment – with varied perspectives across the spectrum of conservative thought – on the day’s most pressing issues and events. The formation of Blaze Media is in response to the marketplace’s clear need for a powerful, independent, media platform that honors the individual liberties protected by the Constitution, celebrates our uniquely American values, welcomes the debate of opposing views, and refuses to capitulate to angry mobs that seek to silence free speech.
Other Reporting
The Hollywood Reporter had an exclusive in which they were the first to break the story. Their story includes more details from Glenn Beck about the merger.
Glenn Beck, Mark Levin Create Conservative Media Powerhouse: Exclusive | Hollywood Reporter
Beck and Levin are set to officially announce what they are calling a merger of equals Monday, but Beck tells The Hollywood Reporter that the move could be just a next step in building a powerhouse, independent media company.
“This is the beginning of scale,” he says. “Anyone who loves the Bill of Rights and pursues honesty, I want them all in. We’re an open book. Let’s talk,” he says.
He added that his intention with the merger is “to further expand and offer the public an alternative to liberal media group-think.”
Blaze Media will compete with conservative outlets like Breitbart News, The Daily Caller (co-founded by Tucker Carlson) and Salem Media Group, a publicly traded company that is considered the industry leader in talk radio. It will also compete with Daily Wire, founded by Ben Shapiro, a former Breitbart editor who had also considered merging with Beck’s company.
“I’d still like to do that,” Beck said. “I’m a big fan of what Ben has built.”
“We worked hard to make sure we’re in the black. If we had spoken to CRTV a couple of years ago, it would have been a different story,” he says. “We talked about a merger when neither of us needs it. That’s the best time.”
Beck said four years ago he was moving into movie production, though it hadn’t been financially feasible, until now.
“The merger will help those efforts,” he said. “First and foremost, I’m an artist and a storyteller.”

Now, do you. When will @realDailyWire be merging with #BlazeMedia? https://t.co/NRMPNVybHD

Awesome stuff! Been with the blaze since it’s birth back in 2011. Conservative media needs to get big to compete with the likes of cnn, msnbc, and others. Not just a bunch of small entities competing for the same space. Unite. Thrive. Succeed.

Sure, I will give Blaze Media a go.
I hope that CRTV and Blaze together make a bigger footprint, more noise. Most feel Beck is tough to digest but why can't the right make an effort to come together? @Oann is good but @Foxnews is gone.

Hi, John. We're live! Same subscription plan, same price, more great shows to watch. BlazeTV subscribers will continue to get on-demand video with no commercial breaks.

Look, all I am saying is @glennbeck should bring @AP4Liberty’s podcast to @CRTV @theblaze. #BlazeMedia

Takeaway
Much of the criticism against the newly merged conservative media giant stems from a dislike of Glenn Beck. It is interesting that he has drawn so much hatred. As conservatives we should admire the commitment and ambition Glenn Beck has, along with his willingness to take risks to advance conservatism. And we should look forward to the movies Blaze Media may soon produce. Beck is not everyone’s flavor of conservatism, and that is perfectly fine. The same can be said about Mark Levin, Stephen Crowder, Allie Beth Stuckey, Dan Bongino, Daniel Horowitz and Steve Deace. This is where the merger appears to be beautiful: there is a diverse perspective of conservative thought that isn’t as vast anywhere else. Conservatives champion diversity of thought, as opposed to identity politics. For this reason, the emergence of Blaze Media is a welcomed alternative amidst the groupthink panels of the mainstream media.
