Why leftists refuse to accept our sovereignty as a nation

Why leftists refuse to accept our sovereignty as a nation

There are plenty of theories about why leftists continuously push for open borders even when they call it something else. That is actually becoming more rare; they just call for open borders directly now. The most prevalent argument from the right is that it’s a conspiracy by Democrats who see immigrants as their easiest future voting block to indoctrinate. Some contend that opening the borders is simply a way of virtue signaling their hypocritical view of humanitarian “equality” that ignores Americans who are also in need. But it really comes down to a single reason that is so cynical, even most conservatives miss it.

In our politically polarized society, most leftists oppose the law and order doctrines associated with sovereignty simply because conservatives promote it. Their arguments are designed to oppose border security, legal immigration, deportations, and cooperation with federal law enforcement because that’s the opposite perspective of their sworn enemies on the right.

It’s probably hard for many conservatives to believe because it doesn’t make sense to a logic-driven mentality. Why would anyone oppose something just because their political enemies support it? To answer this, we have to look at their arguments and actions and compare them with the rest of their doctrine. We also have to look at the recent past, the “good ol’ days” of less than a decade ago when border security was a bipartisan goal.

Do open borders make sense compared to the rest of their ideology? No. They believe there is too big of a gap between the rich and the poor. Their argument for income equality in all its forms combined with their calls for the rich to pay for everything runs in stark contrast to an open borders mentality which will increase the income gap. Instead of making fewer people poor, they allegedly want more people to be poor. One could argue that they’re so delusional they think there’s enough money made by the rich to help all poor people everywhere, but that’s a stretch.

Lest we forget, it was Senator Obama who echoed the beliefs of his party when he said, “We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States, undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”

Who said this about illegal immigration, Obama or Trump?

https://noqreport.com/2018/10/23/said-illegal-immigration-obama-trump/Today, it’s often hard to recall a moment when leftists were much more careful about their calls for open borders. Those who were running for political office were especially careful, not wanting to sound like they were opposed to law and order. They didn’t want to anger immigrants who came here legally, nor those who are in the process to become Americans.

Spoiler alert: the following quote, which could easily come from President Trump at any given moment, was spoken by Senator Barack Obama a short decade ago.

We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States, undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, lawfully to become immigrants in this country.

Listening to the Democratic Party of today, it’s hard to imagine the majority of them ever wanted to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the country. They’ve deviated in recent years because it became politically expedient. Their base started embracing illegal immigration because conservatives pushed so hard against it. The leftists’ need to be the polar opposites of all things deemed conservative created false ideologies they were able to justify with the help of open border proponents indoctrinating them into the dangerous mindset. Now, the shift from logic to untenable open borders idiocy is nearly complete in the Democratic Party itself. Common sense has been replaced by “anything conservative must be bad.”

This has been brewing for a while, but it was the rise of President Trump that sharpened the focus of leftists. They once supported tariffs. Now they oppose it because the President is using them. They used to want bump stocks banned. Now that the President is pushing for it, they’re silent. They wanted criminal justice reform. Ever since the President started touting it, they’ve suddenly decided the measures they supported less than a year ago must be bad because “orange man bad.”

This is the state of our political discourse. Everything on the right must be opposed by the left. Visa versa is true as well. If conservatives want it, leftists feel obligated to oppose it. They don’t form their own perspectives. They are just the dissent no matter what.

Vice President reacts to Atlanta Mayor Bottoms’ move to turn away ICE detainees

Vice President reacts to Atlanta Mayor Bottoms move to turn away ICE detainees

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms made headlines this week when she announced an executive order forbidding her city’s jails from accepting ICE detainees. It was a move that drew harsh criticism from both sides. The right obviously wanted her to work with immigration enforcement to ease the already-strained detention system for border patrol and ICE. The left told her this would only redirect ICE agents to use for-profit private jails.

But Bottoms was resolute despite the criticism.

“I, like many others, have been horrified watching the impact of President Trump’s zero tolerance immigration policy on children and families,” Bottoms said in a statement. “My personal angst has been compounded by the City of Atlanta’s long-standing agreement with the U.S. Marshal’s Office to house ICE detainees in our City jail.”

Vice President Mike Pence brought up the issue in a speech he delivered to ICE employees in Atlanta.

Now, I know you’ve got a hard job. And unfortunately, with the debate in the public square today, sometimes it gets harder. I heard on my way down here that the mayor of Atlanta recently announced that the city government wouldn’t cooperate with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement when it comes to the detention of criminal illegal aliens in this city.

And I — it is amazing to think — the mayor actually said that she would, in her words, “not be complicit in an immigration policy that intentionally inflicts misery.” Well, I would say to the mayor that criminal illegal immigrants, gang members on our streets, are what inflict misery.

The flow of illegal drugs, like cocaine and meth and fentanyl, inflict misery and wreck our families and communities. Human trafficking inflicts misery. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the men and women who enforce our laws do not inflict misery. They bring safety and security to the people of Atlanta, and they deserve the respect of every elected official in this country.

My Take

It’s one thing to object to measures put forth by the federal government. This can be a good thing as the tenets of limited-government federalism teach us. DC is far too powerful right now and cities need to be willing to stand up just as individuals and states do.

But this move by Bottoms is nothing more than political fodder. She’s trying to build a name for herself as someone who stood up to the President’s immigration policy, but is putting her own city and citizens at risk as a result. When ICE has no place to detain criminal illegal immigrants, they often have no recourse but to release them. This may seem insane, but that’s the state of our immigration system thanks to people like Bottoms.

Keep in mind, they aren’t bringing “family units” or separating children from their families, which is the premise behind Bottoms’ protest. The people ICE brings to Atlanta jails are criminals. These are people who have, in many cases, done harm to people who live in Atlanta. For Bottoms to get political while putting her own citizens at risk is ridiculous.

Such is the state of a divided America where Democrats are willing to harm American citizens if it means scoring political points against President Trump. Mayor Bottoms should not be celebrated. She should be condemned for bowing to political expediency.

Illegal alien Juan Manuel Flores Del Toro identified as murderer of Kittitas County sheriff’s deputy Ryan Thompson

Illegal alien Juan Manuel Flores Del Toro identified as murderer of Kittitas County sheriffs deputy

A reported “road rage incident” turned deadly for a sheriff’s deputy and the man they were trying to stop on Tuesday when the perpetrated opened fire after being pulled over. It has now been confirmed by ICE that the perpetrator was an illegal immigrant.

Juan Manuel Flores Del Toro, 29, died at the hospital after being wounded in another shootout with police. He killed Kittitas County sheriff’s deputy Ryan Thompson and wounded another police officer in the subsequent shootout.

“Juan Manuel Flores Del Toro, a citizen of Mexico, was unlawfully present in the United States. He entered the U.S. on April 11, 2014, through a Laredo, Texas, Land Port of Entry on a Temporary Agricultural Worker (H-2A) visa. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has no record of Flores Del Toro leaving the U.S., nor extending his visa after it expired.”

My Take

Conservatives are so focused on the border crisis that we often forget the other elephant in the room – visa overstays. Del Toro was recorded as entering the country on a H-2A visa, but he didn’t leave when he was supposed to as designated by his status.

We often point to the border wall as the solution, but this criminal didn’t sneak into the country illegally. He remained illegally, and it’s a problem that requires an entire overhaul of our immigration system. If we can’t keep track of and remove those in the country illegally, then our immigration system is worthless.

Regardless of the circumstances that allowed him to stay in the country, the bottom line is he wasn’t supposed to be here and a law enforcement officer is dead because the system is broken.

100K released in 3 months: What’s the point in arresting illegal immigrants if ICE doesn’t have a way to hold them?

100K released in 3 months Whats the point in arresting illegal immigrants if ICE doesnt have a way t

Over 100,000 illegal immigrants have been released by ICE following apprehension in the last three months alone. That’s more than 1,000 per day. Why are they doing this? Because Washington DC refuses to give them the resources or facilities they need to deal with the national emergency at the border.

And yes, this is an emergency. We can debate all day about whether or not it’s a national emergency that should be declared as such by the President or whether he should have been getting this tough on the issue long before the Democrats won control of the House of Representatives, but what can’t be argued is whether or not this problem has grown to the status of being a true and tangible crisis.

It’s not manufactured as a scare tactic. It’s not the White House bending numbers, as many in mainstream media want to believe. This is real.

As the Daily Caller points out, only some of the 100,000 released illegal immigrants have been required to wear tracking devices:

There are plenty of dysfunctional programs and agencies in the United States. That can be expected since government generally doesn’t handle situations with efficiency, frugality, or common sense. But there are certain responsibilities of the government that should get special treatment. Our national defense, whether through the military or from outside threats such as illegal immigration, should be a high priority for our representatives in Washington DC to get right. The fact they’re dropping this particular ball so spectacularly is unacceptable.

We have our own problems among American citizens. We don’t need to inherit more problems by allowing the borders to be wide open as they are, then to not even empower our law enforcement agency tasked with capturing and detaining illegal immigrants only exacerbates the problem.

I’ve spoken out against the GOP’s lackadaisical approach to border security since before President Trump took office. I’ve continued to denounce their inactivity and the bad advice that prompted the President to wait until December, 2018, to finally put his foot down on the issue. Now we’re seeing the fruits of their inactivity.

With that said, it’s still the Democrats who are the main cause for consternation.

The problem isn’t that Democrats don’t acknowledge the invasion at the border that is overwhelming all current methods of security. It’s that they don’t care. This is what they want. America’s sovereignty is unimportant to them.
