Former immigration judge supports the President's new asylum rules

The migrant caravans heading to our border have people who intend to apply for asylum one way or the other. President Trump announced last week that he intends for those people to only be able to apply for asylum if they are documented at an official port of entry, effectively barring those who cross the border illegally from being allowed to apply for asylum.
It isn’t just the caravans, according to former immigration judge Andrew Arthur. He notes that 2,000 people are apprehended every day after illegally crossing the border.
By preventing illegal immigrants from applying for asylum, it sends the right message. If you want to come to America, do so legally through proper ports of entry. If you cross illegally, you will not be allowed to apply for asylum. This makes perfect sense.
