Former Congressman Jason Chaffetz is out promoting his new book, The Deep State. As if on cue, President Trump order declassification of many documents, testimonies, and text messages that reveal much about the alleged deep state.
The specificity of the release means the White House knows how they will benefit from the information reaching the public. It will almost certainly demonstrate bias on the part of many in the FBI as well as hypocrisy in the way the investigations of Trump’s campaign were handled differently from how Hillary Clinton’s contact with Russian operatives was handled.
On Fox & Friends, Chaffetz drops some details about how the deep state operates. He then went into the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation, noting his accuser doesn’t seem to be acting like someone who just now made the decision to come forward. She took a polygraph in August, secured a lawyer, and was interviewed by the Washington Post. If someone doesn’t want to come forward, they don’t do these things.
