New Mexico is a blue state, but only slightly. It will be interesting in 2018 to see if the GOP gains ground. Issues related to illegal immigration have a massive impact in this state. The Conservative movement in New Mexico is strong in that they are fielding solid candidates, while RINOs aren’t. However, it is a little concerning the lack of competition in this state. Nonetheless, solid campaigns will help reinforce Conservatives in the swamp.

US Senate
Mick Rich is surprisingly the only Republican running for the Senate in New Mexico. Even other blue states can’t boast that. Despite the lack of competition, it’s still important to at least vet him. Rich’s background is in construction. In searching Mick Rich’s platform he has more advanced Conservative positions than your typical campaign conservative. He’s the real deal from an ideological standpoint. It is worth noting that his campaign skills may be lacking. His social media presence is saddening for a Senate candidate who is unopposed. November is months away and he has a lot of ground to make up. In the last two Senate races, Republicans have hovered around 45% of the vote. This race is winnable, but it will require a lot of work.
District 1
Janice Arnold-Jones is the unopposed Republican in this race. With the Democrat incumbent vacating their seat to pursue higher office, the Republicans are looking to steal this seat..
District 2
Endorsements are everywhere in the race for this open seat. Four Republicans vie for the nomination. And this is a good thing, this time. Why? Because it seems as though, there are three strong conservatives and one Trumpist running. But this race is between Monty Newman and Yvette Herrell. Newman has the backing of Ted Cruz. Yet he also has the backing of the Albuquerque Journal because he’s not too conservative. Their endorsement notes that he would have voted against the tax cuts, though at least because they weren’t paired with spending cuts. Yvette Herrell has the nod from the NRA, House Freedom Caucus, and the NMGOP. Both candidates have an indication that they would be great conservatives in the House. Then there’s Gavin Clarkson who is campaigning on Trump’s coattails when Trump isn’t a point of conflict in this race.
Conservative Pick: Yvette Herrell
District 3
Jerald Steve McFall is running unopposed.
