FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is out at the bureau. He has been put on “terminal leave,” which means he’s going to use up all his vacation time before being officially released. It is currently unknown whether he left in protest or was fired.
FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe ‘removed’ from the bureau
Top FBI official Andrew McCabe has been “removed” from his post as deputy director, Fox News is told, leaving the bureau after months of conflict-of-interest complaints from Republicans including President Trump.
A source confirmed to Fox News that McCabe is taking “terminal leave” – effectively taking vacation until he reaches his planned retirement in a matter of weeks. As such, he will not be reporting to work at the FBI anymore.
My Take
This probably should have happened long ago once it was revealed to CIA Director Christopher Wray that his 2nd-in-command was directly involved in trying to get Hillary Clinton elected president. However, the timing is good for both the President and the FBI as it averts calls for him to be removed if details in the soon-to-be released FBI memo demonstrate McCabe was complicit in leftist attempts to stop President Trump.
