After 10 years at Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards will be stepping down as President. The liberal abortion proponent hasn’t declared a reason and no successor has been named.
“Cecile plans to discuss 2018 and the next steps for Planned Parenthood’s future at the upcoming board meeting,” a spokesman for Planned Parenthood told the Washington Examiner.
Richards, 60, has been at the helm of Planned Parenthood as Republican lawmakers have tried repeatedly to cut the organization’s federal funding. The Trump administration last week announced it was rolling back Obama-era guidelines that prevented states from cutting Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.
While many pro-lifers may cheer this, chances are strong it won’t help. She will likely be replaced by someone just as liberal if not more so. The new president will likely be as militant about pushing the abortion agenda as Richards has been in her tenure. New figurehead, same murderous policies.
