If you want to watch your federal government in action, you turn to the channels of C-SPAN (Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network). Since 1979 they presented gavel to gavel coverage of the U.S. House of Representatives and added coverage of the U.S. Senate in 1986 with the sign-on of C-SPAN 2. There is also a C-SPAN 3 that is focused on political events in Washington DC as well, and to top it off their is C-SPAN Radio heard at 90.1 FM in the DC listening area and on SiriusXM and c-span.org. They try to present all of the above with no filter from political pundits and/or commentators as much as possible.
One of C-SPAN’s most important programs on the channel is Washington Journal which has been running on C-SPAN since 1995. On its New Years Day program, Steve Deace was interviewed on the program in which he presents what can be expected in the off-year election of 2018, and he honestly nails it when it comes to Democrats losing the blue-collar base (in favor of appeasing the transgenders and the communist-Marxist bases) and the Republicans squeaking by should the economy continue to improve in spite of Trump’s approval ratings.
