2018 Resolutions: Advance conservatism, Federalist Party, and Convention of States

2018 Resolutions Advance conservatism Federalist Party and Convention of States

With 2017 in the rearview mirror and the road ahead leading us to 2018, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the past 12 months as we prepare to tackle the days ahead.

If you’re like me . . . you’re one lucky son-of-a-gun! But seriously, if you’re like me, I’m sure there are things in your life that didn’t go as planned in 2017. Still, it’s important to remember the good things and the true things God brought into your life as well.

Speaking from personal experience, I know that even when life doesn’t turn out as I had planned, God is still working all things together for my good. That’s true for you too! When we realize that God is on our side and we allow him to help us, we can face the future with confidence and hope.

I know it may sound a bit cliché, but 2018 stands to be the most important year of our lives for many reasons.

For example, 2018 is a mid-term election year with many of the same issues facing us as we’ve had in years past. Even though 2017 is the year we gave the GOP full control of Washington, the establishment repeatedly chose politics over principle as they broke their campaign promises in areas such as Obamacare repeal, fixing the illegal immigration problem, and getting the budget under control.

And now that Donald Trump and the GOP have passed so-called tax reform, these lying liars will try to turn their “accomplishment” into campaign donations and votes.

Though, it can be argued that Trump and the GOP have had some success in 2017, 2018 is shaping up to be a year of big-government spending on things like $1 trillion on infrastructure, a complete cave on illegal immigration by making DACA permanent, and a November election that strongly favors the Democrats.

As conservatives, we need to develop a steely resolve to be even more involved in 2018.

For me, I resolve to be more involved in the Federalist Party and the Article V Convention of States project. Additionally, I will do all I can to call out the blatant hypocrisy of the lying liars in Washington while simultaneously working to restore decency and morality in a society that has lost both.

Will you join me?

Creeping dystopia: How NYC’s nanny state policies are testing a future Orwellian nightmare

Creeping dystopia How NYCs nanny state policies are testing a future Orwellian nightmare

States are the laboratories of Democracy. That’s the standard federalist philosophy in which states should be allowed to test innovative solutions to problems for other states to copy, avoid, or change for their own needs. It’s what makes America’s form of government the most vibrant the world has ever known and is quickly being accepted by both the right and left as a fundamental component of our republic despite decades of power-grabbing in Washington DC.

New York City is more populous than most states and therefore falls into the same category. As a deep-blue city, the experiments that go on there are often the most progressive in the land. Case-in-point: The idiotic move to ban certain words and phrases that may hurt people’s feelings. We’re not talking about the “n-word” or some anti-Semitic tropes. We’re talking about calling someone an “illegal alien” despite the phrase being codified as the proper designation for people in the country illegally.

Offenders may be fined as much as a quarter-million dollars.

But this is much bigger than just virtue-signaling by leftist politicians. This is a test, an experiment if you will. How far can progressives lurch to the left with their authoritarian policies before the people speak out? They already know conservatives will react poorly, and they’re prepared to ignore us. But what about Independents? Moderates? How far can they censor the far-left before even they start to balk?

There are two prerequisites for Marxism to be implemented. These are conspicuously protected by the 1st and 2nd Amendments. To control a people, an authoritarian government must control their speech and they must disarm the population. Once those two goals are achieved, everything else in their dystopian utopia becomes possible. What we’re seeing in New York is part of an ongoing effort to control speech. We already know what the left wants to do with our guns.

This should be a warning to every patriot who lives in far-left cities like New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle. It’s time to consider moving. Seriously. As a resident of Southern California, I moved to one of the last bastions of conservatism in the state: Orange County. While I’ve been here, I’ve seen the systematic failures of the local GOP and the rise of progressive ideologies spread. A once-red set of districts have been turned blue right before my eyes. For now, I’m anchored to the area for medical and familial reasons, but as soon as the situation changes, I’m out. I’d recommend the same for others in similar situations.

Our conservative and/or Christian philosophies will no longer be welcome in areas like New York City. Some may say it’s time to dig in and fight, but I don’t see it as possible anymore. That’s not to say we can’t fight for the truth everywhere in America; this is still the land of the free even in places where liberty is under attack. But a strategic retreat to solidify conservative-friendly areas is the best course of action. It’s not just about politics. It’s about our personal freedoms that these cities and states are taking away rapidly.

When I moved my family from Oklahoma over a decade ago, I did so knowing we would be a minority, even in Orange County. But I always thought fighting the good fight where it’s most needed was the right approach. Now, I’m realizing trying to bail water out of sinking ships like California and New York is futile. They’re just too big and have gone too far to the left. Smaller blue cities and states may be worth the fight, but the two leftist juggernauts are lost.

It’s best to regroup and watch them sink from afar. When their failures accumulate and their answers are finally found wanting by the electorate, we can return to rebuild. But at this point the experimentations with Marxism in these far-left areas cannot be stopped until complete failure is realized. Patriots do not want to be on any of these boats as they sink into an Orwellian state.

Federalism allows cities and states to make rules that best suit their people. In places like NYC, the people must either rise up and say they no longer want to be guinea pigs for the social justice warriors they elected, or they must accept authoritarian rule.

The clock is ticking on climate change… alarmists

The clock is ticking on climate change alarmists

The world is going to end in ten years. The world has been ten years away from ending for the last four decades. And yet, here we are.

I’m not one of those who denies we need to be better stewards of this world. We are trashing the planet that God gave us, oftentimes in ways that no longer make sense. Whether or not these actions are actively changing the climate is for smarter people than me to debate, but I’ve suffered through too many doomsday predictions to give any credence to hypothetical timetables. Invariably, these doomsdayers have been proven wrong as their predictions fail miserably.

Those who say we need to take radical action to preserve the environment are making empty, political threats whether they realize it or not. Most are indoctrinated. Some are fully aware they’re using the politics of climate change to advance their economic and power-grabbing agenda.

Those who say we need to find solutions to improve conditions in the world for humans, animals, and plants are correct. There are old practices that need to change, new practices that need to be adopted, and problems that need to be solved. We need to address these issues in a systematic way. But not because of climate change. Not because of the doomsdayers.

Advancing human society, protecting vulnerable aspects of the environment, and making the world a cleaner place for all to live are righteous goals that are being subverted by climate change alarmists. Instead of a systematic, pragmatic approach to improving conditions, they want to force-feed sweeping authoritarian changes into the world. The indoctrinated masses are behind the climate change puppetmasters like sheep being led to the slaughter.

Before I get into the real agenda of the climate change puppetmasters, let’s look at actual solutions for protecting the environment that should be implemented through the proper course of an advancing society.

Clean energy that makes sense

I am very much in favor of expanding research into renewable energy sources that will EVENTUALLY replace fossil fuels when it makes fiscal sense. Today, that’s not the case. Solar, wind, geothermal, and hydroelectric energy collection are all still terribly inefficient. Moreover, they require resources such as large swaths of land for wind, expensive projects for geothermal and hydroelectric, and rare components for solar that could be used better.

We know we can collect and store energy. We just haven’t figured out how to do it efficiently yet. Trying to force the issue before it’s time is silly. The problems of finite fossil fuels have been identified and we must move towards solutions that will ween us off their use. But we must do so in a way that makes sense. We must be practical. Setting arbitrary time limits based on false doomsday predictions is idiotic.

Instead of expensive projects to prematurely collect renewable energy inefficiently, we should be focusing on improving the collection process. Why are we building massive wind farms and solar arrays using stage-one technology? We know we can do it better if we have the patience to let the technology blossom. But the technology isn’t ready. It’s too expensive. It’s inefficient at best, ineffective at worst. Much of the renewable energy infrastructure will have to be replaced once better technology is discovered and developed.

Pushing for mass clean energy initiatives now is like picking fruit before it’s ripe. We need to let the technology guide the politics, not the other way around.

Potable water is shockingly ignored

The biggest environmental problem we face is the one few climate activists ever address. Clean drinking water is genuinely difficult to find in many populated areas of the world. If there’s a reason to sound an environmental alarm, this is the one. Unfortunately, the alarm bells over fossil fuels, cows, and carbon emissions drown out the real challenges people are facing today with potable water.

Eliminating plastic straws will not give water to those who need it in Africa. Replacing ten million SUVs with Priuses will not end the drought in southeast Asia. It’s the ultimate con-job that climate alarmists point to people needing water as a reason for their alarms while they do absolutely nothing to help these people get the water they need. Keep in mind, the problem with potable water existed long before climate change became an issue, which is why the alarmists do nothing to address the issue.

More people will die today from lack of potable water than any of the alleged climate change catastrophes that happen this year. Yet the problem is ignored. It’s just not politically expedient for the doomsdayers to address an issue that preexisted their doomsday claims.

Again, we must turn to technology. But this time it’s not a matter of technology needing to be created through research. The technology exists. Instead, we need to apply funding to make the technology readily available to those who need it. The money spent promoting climate change propaganda would go a long way towards a desalination and filtration infrastructure that would bring clean drinking water to the billions who need it. The solutions are staring us in the face, but we’re too busy trying to cut carbon emissions.

Cleaner world through federalism

I’ve long called for the Environmental Protection Agency to be abolished. It’s a regulatory nightmare that stands in the way of progress so virtue-signalling bureaucrats can say they’re doing something. Instead of an EPA, we need to turn to local communities. States, counties, cities, and communities can go a long way towards cleaning up the mess we humans are making of this world if the challenge is presented at those levels rather than at a national level.

Instead of wasting billions of dollars on an environmental nanny, we should empower and encourage communities to go to work for themselves. Imagine if the money spent on studies about the delta smelt’s habitat was instead spent on building local efforts to promote recycling. We could kill two birds with one stone by helping homeless people. In Little Rock, Arkansas, the city is paying homeless people to pick up trash.

Let’s eliminate the federal virtue-signaling agency and replace it with localized efforts. Empower the lower governments to experiment with ways to make our nation cleaner. This would yield real results instead of obtuse and unnecessary regulations.

The truth about climate change alarmists

Climate change actions such as the Green New Deal are all about transforming the economic and governmental systems of this nation and the world. Climate change itself is simply the engine these Marxists are using to get the masses riled up.

It’s a powerful vehicle for them because we have years of indoctrination in schools, propaganda in the media, and an array of false (political) science studies that have been tilted for nefarious reasons. They use fear to promote their agenda, and frankly I’m extremely concerned we may be beyond the point of no return. Too many Americans have fallen for the ruse. But the clock is ticking. As long as we continue fighting their agenda, the false claims will be proven to be nothing more than doomsday political machinations of forces bent on our nation’s destruction.

There are two types of climate change alarmists: The indoctrinated Americans, such as those in the #ClimateStrike, and the authoritarian puppetmasters using climate change as a pedestal to push their political agenda. They must be exposed.

Allen West: ‘America and Texas need victors… not victims’

Allen West America and Texas need victors not victims

One of the many reasons we endorsed Lt. Col. Allen West for Texas Republican Chair is because he represents something that is desperately needed in the ranks of the GOP: Courage. The party has been infiltrated by too many “leaders” who are feckless and unimaginative. They promote business as usual, cutting deals behind closed doors with progressives that do not promote the Constitutional conservatism this nation desperately needs.

So much attention is being paid to the national side of politics. Many Republicans watch the Democratic debates to laugh and gather ammunition against the eventual nominee, but fewer are focused on the state and local government that are the cornerstone of both limited-government federalism and proper Constitutional conservatism. As we push forward with the American Conservative Movement, we do so knowing that there must be a return of focus within the GOP on localized government where real action can be taken.

Government starts with the individual. We, as Americans, are the highest level of government, followed by local, city, county, state, and finally the safety net at the bottom, the federal government. That is how it was always supposed to be. It wasn’t until DC’s ongoing power grab started panning federalism that the power of the individual was diminished.

We don’t need panderers in DC or deal-makers/breakers at the state level. We need real leaders to represent our interest. America and Texas need Lt. Col. Allen West to make the Lone Star State a bright shade of red once again.

“Texas and America need statesmen and women who tell the people what they need to hear… as opposed to politicians who tell the people what they think they want to hear. I seek to restore the right relationship between the sovereignty of the individual citizen and the institution of government. And, in doing so, restore the honor of our Constitutional Republic, and its greatest state, the Lone Star State of Texas. America and Texas need victors… not victims.” – Lt. Col. Allen West

Bold, aggressive leadership is desperately needed in Texas. As the Lone Star State goes, so too does the entire GOP. Democrats want to turn it blue and state GOP leaders aren’t stopping them. Lt. Col. Allen West will get the job done.
