As you know, several public broadcasting personalities dropped like flies. NPR’s Michael Oreskes, American Public Media/Minnesota Public Radio’s Garrison Keillor (and NPR was investigating this punk first), WBUR Boston’s Tom Ashbrook whose program On Point was heard on 290 stations via NPR, and Tavis Smiley and Charlie Rose both lost their respected namesake shows on PBS.
Rose will be replaced by two left-leaning women; Katty Kay of the BBC and Christiane Amanpour formerly of CNN.
If you must have government subsidized radio and TV and a Corporation for Public Broadcasting can I offer a suggestion? First of all most of these NPR stations should be cut to the bone. They are getting ratings and ears, it’s finally time to for them to get off the media welfare. Focus on the stations that are not so political focused. Public radio in America has been a haven for the Classical, Jazz and Adult Rock/Triple A formats. Now they don’t get the ratings like these public radio news/talk outlets, so there is an excuse for these stations.

At the close of 2017, no less than seven prominent male hosts and editors of influential government-sponsored radio and television shows are out of work amid claims of sexual harassment.
According to their accusers, the alleged Malevolent Seven are powerful pervs and creeps who’ve been running wild at NPR and PBS for decades, sponsored and subsidized by taxpayers and corporate donors.
