Today, the United Nations passed a resolution that tells the United States we’re not allowed to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The final vote count was 128 in favor, 9 against, and 35 abstaining.
“Israel completely rejects this preposterous resolution,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said minutes shortly the results were announced.
The President and U.S. Ambassador tot he U.N. Nikki Haley have indicated they will take note of those who voted in favor of the resolution. This not-so-veiled threat will be discussed for the coming days as the world speculates on how the U.S. will react.
.@USUN Ambassador Nikki Haley: The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the @UN General Assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation…America will put our embassy in Jerusalem…This vote will be remembered. pic.twitter.com/pShm51nzFJ

Covid variant BA.5 is spreading. It appears milder but much more contagious and evades natural immunity. Best to boost your immune system with new Z-Dtox and Z-Stack nutraceuticals from our dear friend, the late Dr. Vladimir Zelenko.
Maybe the UN telling Trump he cannot do something will actually cause him to do it. This would be one (among many) examples of other world leaders “playing” Trump to destroy the credibility of the US and to cause chaos in the ME that they can then take advantage of.
If Trump does get played and force the Embassy move in a show of “So THERE!!!”, he will not deserve praise for the move (as many pundits will no doubt claim) because he’s doing it out of spite – not because it’s the right thing to do or because it’s being done as part of a larger policy-based initiative. As a policy-disconnected (random) action, it would have no meaning other than to spit in the eye of the UN to soothe Trump’s ego. Worse – it’s almost certain that corners would be cut and sensible precautions would not be taken, which in turn are likely to lead to needless US deaths.
No action take out of spite can be deemed “good” because actions taken from spite are rarely planned with care, but are too often rushed into place with insufficient planning and lack of proper (careful) consideration.
If Trump DOES rush our Embassy move, i expect it to go poorly – perhaps so poorly that Trump will then reverse himself (again) once his bout of spite passes and claim that he was “tricked” into the move as an excuse to permanently retreat from his campaign promise to move the Embassy.
2018 mid-terms are upon us. Trump has so polarized the GOP that probably about a 3rd or more of the voting base is on the verge of bolting from the party permanently and an additional 3rd or so will refuse to vote in 2018 for candidates that Trump / McConnell campaign for, endorse, or support.
