There’s no doubt the race for Alabama’s Senate seat wasn’t even really a story until the accusations were made against him for sexual misconduct. Considering how close it was, there are now those who are wondering how they could have lost. Is it Mitch McConnell’s fault? Steve Bannon?
Fox News contributors weighed in on the question. One important question Katie Pavlich asked is whether or not the White House should be involved in these races at all?
Covid variant BA.5 is spreading. It appears milder but much more contagious and evades natural immunity. Best to boost your immune system with new Z-Dtox and Z-Stack nutraceuticals from our dear friend, the late Dr. Vladimir Zelenko.
I see all factions of the Republican Party at fault here – all except the Alabama voters who were the ONLY ones that SHOULD have been involved.
Had Trump & Mitch Mitch not worked so hard to discredit Moore during the primaries in their efforts to get Strange elected, his credibility may not have been so sullied. Had Mitch & other Republicans not unendorsed & disavowed Moore after the primaries based on nothing but he-said/she-said unverifiable accusations, their support at the end of the campaign (when it looked like Moore could win) may not have been as disgustingly hypocritical and off-putting to thinking people. Had Trump stayed off Twitter and the feud between Bannon and McConnell not been so public (and then to have ALL THREE factions claim to support Moore at the end), they might have sounded almost believable (if not totally sincere). Had McConnell not threatened not to seat duly-elected Alabama Senator Moore or had McConnell not threatened immediate and on-going ethics investigations or an expulsion vote if Moore won, perhaps the Alabama voters would have been more interested in electing a Republican in the first place.
Can anyone really blame the Alabama voters for not wanting to vote for a man that the Republican party had publicly disowned, or a man that the Republican Party had already threatened with expulsion or refusing to seat ? Even if they succeeded in electing Roy Moore, would McConnell have ever allowed Moore to fully participate in HIS Senate ? Would Trump have ever accepted Roy Moore as a Republican into “HIS” party, given Roy Moore’s avowed conservative credentials ? If not, what’s the point of attempting to help Roy Moore win ? What faction of the GOP did Roy Moore support again ? Bannon claimed him for the alt-right. McConnell wanted to claim him for the establishment. Trump wanted to support him as part of the Trumpian “anti-establishment”. Roy Moore himself claimed to be conservative (anti-alt-right). DNC-driven accusations aside, with the 3 factions (Bannon, Trump, McConnell) at each others’ throats and all “supporting” Roy Moore on behalf of out-of-state interests, was there anyone actually on the side of the Alabama Republican voters ? Why not just stay home in protest of the interference flowing into Alabama from Wash DC ?
