The aphorism is that whenever one points a finger, three point back and this couldn’t be any more true than with recent events. Almost by rote, the usual suspects piped up with the politically motivated tropes cynically taking full advantage of someone else’s pain and suffering. The contrast between both sides couldn’t be more telling, and to be blunt about I’m referring to the sides of light versus darkness or good versus evil. But let me first speak of the light because that should always be our emphasis.
I first heard about this after the fact because of a circumstance in my own life of which I cannot reveal for personal reasons. Suffice it to say I experienced what happens when something of this nature strikes a particular community. In both cases, people came out of the woodwork to help in any way they can.
More than 100 people gathered after dark for a prayer vigil on a grassy street corner within sight of the church where the deadliest mass shooting in Texas’ history occurred.
What were almost complete strangers came forward to offer prayers and support making a world of difference for those undergoing these ordeals. I can say this with certainty, and I cannot express a sufficient amount of gratitude for the thoughts and prayers of everyone in my particular situation.
The difference couldn’t be any more obvious with what should be properly labelled as evil or darkness.
It wasn’t ‘a gun’ that callously and pre-meditatively murdered two dozen people in cold blood. It wasn’t a ‘high capacity’ magazines that caused all that carnage. These are both inanimate objects that can either be the tools of evil or good, depending on who is holding them. In this case they were in the hands of evil, but any other weapon could have sufficed.
Evil has been around since the dawn of time and it’s always been able to carry out it’s heinous actions, whether by stone knives and spears or fertilizer and hydrocarbons. It could have found other means of mass murder had it not been a firearm, that fact should be clear to everyone.
Never the less, there are those who cannot resist trying to use these acts of evil to perpetrate what could only be described as their own versions of darkness. These are people who have gone beyond the usual calls for the people to be deprived of their common sense civil rights (whilst hiding behind a cordon of guns) to ridiculing those on the other side for the offering of prayer and other support.
It’s not enough for them to want cynically use the acts of evil to their own ends, but to attack the actions of the light.
So what should we do?
It is the best course of action to ridicule the good and venerate evil?
Studies have shown that these types of mass murder take place in clusters – as in the present case. Some of the perpetrators of these outrages chose to take these actions to gain infamy for themselves, and this is enthusiastically offered up by some of the media for ratings and political advantage. These mass murderers know that their grotesque utterances and life story will be publicized for as long as it is politically expedient for the media to do so. Isn’t it a logical conclusion that perhaps some lacking in moral stability would gravitate towards that which is venerated by a media for the balance of several news cycles?
Should we empower evil by disarming rhe good?
History has shown that this is the fatal sequence of a formerly free people: Registration, Confiscation, Annihilation. It may come as a startlingly revealing fact to the Left, but criminals do not obey the law, thus any diminution of the people’s common sense civil rights will only empower evil.
But let us conduct a thought experiment and imagine what would happen were one able to wave a magic wand and rid the world of every firearm down to the last wheel lock or demi-culverin. What would be the result of essentially transforming the world back to a time before the invention of gunpowder and firearms? Well, we already know of the historical brutality before that age. It really wasn’t a peaceful Utopia of unicorns and rainbows since edged weapons were the forebears to firearms, and these have been around since the stone age. A world without firearms would be even more horrific since muscle and skill are the key to edged weapons. Those of larger stature and musculature with time to perfect their death dealing skills would be advantaged. Thus evil in that form dominated the good of smaller size and sex, and that certainly doesn’t sound like the best outcome by any stretch of the imagination.
So as one side piles on trying to take full advantage of another ‘Serious crisis’ that they created with their Marxist philosophy and the other offers prayers and support wherever possible, everyone should be able to see the contrast between the two. One side trying to take advantage of an act of evil, pointing a finger of blame at those who are innocent of the charge, while their bony fingers of cynical accusation point back at them. That alone should have them side with the light instead of the darkness of the Left.
