The cleverest trick used in propaganda against Germany during the war was to accuse Germany of what our enemies themselves were doing.
– Joseph Goebbels Propaganda Minister of the Third Reich, November, 1934, in reference to World War I.
This is the actual quote from Goebbels that is often paraphrased to say “Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty.”
What Democrats believe
I have long maintained that if Goebbels lived today in the United States he would be a Democrat, because he probably wouldn’t have disagreed with the fictional quote, and it certainly applies. This has been the case so often for Democrats. They maintain that anyone who is to the right of Joseph Stalin is a racist, when it is those on the right who believe that we are all equal, and that minorities are just as capable of taking care of themselves as anyone else. The Democrats are the ones who think minorities can’t make it without government “help.”
The Democrats maintain anyone who is pro-gun wants children to die, when we actually want to be able to protect our children from the evil in the world. Then they support child butcher shops like Planned Parenthood. I could go on all day with this, but I want to get to the point of this particular article.
Clinton did exactly what she accused Trump of doing
Every person who recognizes this hypocrisy in the Democrats knew from the moment that the Democrats started screaming about “collusion with Russians” in the 2016 elections that it was likely the Clinton campaign had been the ones colluding with Russia, not the Trump campaign. Or at the very least, if Trump WERE guilty of colluding with Russia, Hillary Clinton had done the exact same thing or worse.
David Harsanyi, senior editor at a The Federalist wrote a great article about whether or not the Democrats truly care about Russian collusion. He lays out the facts as we know them and I suggest reading it here.
We’re About To Find Out If Dems Really Care About Russian Interference
Would liberal columnists make sensationalistic claims that the Russians had “carried out a successful plan to pick the government of the United States”? Would they argue that the election had been rigged? What if a major media organization had taken that ginned-up dossier, one that included a number of unsubstantiated stories about Hillary’s supposed sexual fetishes and shady business dealings with foreign powers, and put it online so millions of readers could judge the content for themselves?
What we know
There is still a lot we don’t know, but what we DO know is that Hillary Clinton, while serving as Barack Obama’s Secretary of State, authorized Russian company Uranium One to gain access to 20% of our uranium. That is staggering. There isn’t much I can say that is positive about Hillary Clinton, but one of the things I can say is that as both Senator and SecState she was very careful in most instances about whom to which we sold weapons or strategic resources.
This personal policy, which I applaud her for, seemed to have a number of exceptions, to which there was really only one common trait: Whether or not the company or nation in question donated millions of dollars to the fake charity known as the Clinton Foundation. In these instances, as was the case with Uranium One, Hillary Clinton’s duties as Senator and Secretary of State took a back seat to both her personal financial interests and her desire to be elected President.
Democrats screamed non-stop between the election and the inauguration about Trump’s business interests being a potential source for corruption for the soon to be President. This was, in my view, a perfectly legitimate concern. However, as Trump’s most ardent fans pointed out, what about Hillary and the Clinton Foundation?
Now, I don’t believe the Trump cult, completely uninterested in Trump’s potential conflicts, were in any position to criticize, but in and of itself it was also a legitimate question. Sure, Trump is President and Hillary is a historical footnote, but these acts being done during her time in the Senate and at State, definitely leave her open to bribery charges, with the Clinton Foundation being the front to launder the money.
We now know that the Clinton campaign at least partially funded the Fusion GPS dossier that was apparently faked to make Trump look bad. Who knows what, if any, of the information in the dossier isn’t true, but the fact that the Clinton campaign apparently colluded with Russia and other parties to come up with the dossier shows Trump wasn’t the only one working with Russia for his political benefit.
The DNC is despicable
Perhaps the most damning thing against Clinton is how quickly the DNC distances themselves from Clinton’s actions and tried to turn the whole affair back against the President. David Chaitin of The Washington Examiner laid out that story.
DNC: Our ‘new leadership’ was not involved in ‘Trump dossier’ funding
“Tom Perez and the new leadership of the DNC were not involved in the decision-making regarding Fusion GPS, nor were they aware that Perkins Coie was working with the organization,” said DNC Communications Director Xochitl Hinojosa in statement, referring to the DNC chairman.
The takeaway
Nothing will stop the Democrats from trying to derail the Trump agenda (whatever it happens Tom be in any given day) but it will be interesting now see if they really care about “interference in our elections” or if they are only interested in providing distractions that keep the Trump agenda from passing. Personally I agree with David Harsanyi: They don’t actually care.
