The NY Times reported that following a $32 million settlement for sexual harassment, Fox News still put Bill O’Reilly back on the air. Sure, he was their most-watched host, but this was his sixth reported alleged sexual harassment case. How many chances did he deserve?
In response, former Fox News star Gretchen Carlson reacted negatively:
“It’s horrifying to think that any company would dismiss an employee following multiple allegations of sexual harassment and then allow him back on the air a few months later.”

Gretchen Carlson slams Fox News for allowing Bill O’Reilly back on the air
O’Reilly was fired in April as the sexual harrassment controversy refused to let up on the longtime Fox News evening anchor. He has long denied any wrong-doing, and in September he made his first appearance on Fox News since his ouster on Sean Hannity’s show.
Carlson’s comments came right after a New York Times report that O’Reilly paid $32 million to settle sexual harassment allegations against him at the beginning of 2017, and that Fox News had offered him a new contract a month later despite knowing about the claims.
