If there was any doubt that the organized labor movement strongly favors Democrats in politics and liberals in general, those doubts should be officially put in the junk pile. A new study demonstrates that the extreme bias against Republicans and conservatives by unions is probably more lopsided than most would guess. In fact, unless someone guessed 100%, they’d be short.
From 2012 to 2016, 99% of over three-quarters of a billion dollars in donations made by labor unions went to left-wing special interests. In a report titled “How Labor Unions Finance Their Political Agenda: 2012-2016,” the biggest recipients were named and included some liberal favorites such as Planned Parenthood, Media Matters, NAACP, Democratic Governors Association, and even the Clinton Foundation.
Daily Signal‘s Grace Carr has more details:
Labor unions gave $764,952,394 to left-wing special interests between 2012 and 2016, according to the Center for Union Facts. Of the nearly $765 million, 99 percent of union political contributions went to left-wing causes. The Center for Union Facts compiled a comprehensive database of information about labor unions in the United States: outlining union spending, salary information, dues revenue data, and more using data from the U.S. Department of Labor.
This isn’t exactly groundbreaking news, but it does highlight something not enough Americans realize. This isn’t like the media that’s around 70% liberal or even education that’s over 80%. Organized labor is nearly 100% titled towards pushing a far-left agenda. They are waning and the only people willing to protect them anymore are the leftists who look beyond the economy-killing, employee-bullying playbooks used by unions.
